I've been trying to get Hoarder, now called Karakeep, up and running on my Raspberry Pi for months. Every few months, I would go in and try to get ChatGPT or Gemini to code the correct YAML file for Docker. I couldn't get it to work, and no one else seemed to be able to get it to work either.

I'm really loving how Mastodon has become a refuge for all the grizzled seafarers on the ocean of the internet. They pop up in my feed and their bios all say something like
"I've been online for longer than the internet. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. 56k modems on fire in the light of Usenet. I watched IRC forks glitter in the dark near the Gateway 3000. All those moments will be lost in slop, like tears in rain. Time to deshittify."
We are entering an era of paywalled news where the poor will only be able to afford reading the headlines, and never the articles.

Tech Literacy is at an All Time Low
I was reading an article this morning from The New Oil about how scams are evolving and how to avoid them. Inside the article, he writes, "as another interesting note, while people ages 34 to 44 tend to get scammed more often, people ages 18 to 24 tend to lose more in scams. This counters the idea that only tech illiterate old people fall for scams or that you can be too poor to be targeted." I would argue that the 34 to 44 range is the more interesting data point because I don't believe that the 18 to 24 people are more tech literate.
