Should have guessed you had that covered. 😂

@alice Or hot yoga for very attractive people. 😏
I believe they’ve already charged him with second degree murder. Not my jurisdiction, but as I understand it, that is typical in Minnesota, as first degree murder can only be charged by indictment from the grand jury. So they charge with the lesser included to hold him while they present the case to the grand jury.
*Technically,* the pardon power is actually different than the DJ clause, which is a restriction on the judiciary from convicting a person for the same offense after acquittal or conviction, but the result is the same. The pardon would eliminate any liability for the federal offense, but only the federal offense. So, yes, with a caveat.
That’s incorrect. Separate sovereigns.
The clause prohibits retrial after conviction or acquittal for the “same offense.” By its nature, the federal offense is different from the state offense, because they are criminalized by separate sovereigns (Congress vs the state legislature).
And the President only has pardon authority over the federal sovereign, eg, violations of acts of Congress.
HTH.
The Supreme Court grants two new cases this morning, including a case backed by Alliance Defending Freedom seeking to block New Jersey’s investigation into First Choice Women’s Resource, an anti-abortion “crisis pregnancy” center. https://www.supremecourt.gov/orders/courtorders/061625zor_4g25.pdf
I realize this isn’t directed to me, but the goal for Iranian people, particularly expats, is ending the control of the IRI over the Iranian people. Would the IRGC members stay with a deposed IRI? Would the IRGC remain if the IRI fell? Don’t underestimate the power of the Iranian people when unleashed, when the political prisoners at Evin are released and allowed to lead Iran into a free future.

He’s in custody now. Thankfully.
Hi all! We never got into the habit of posting here regularly, but we’re going to start now. We have things to tell you! Bridgy Fed updates, new projects, other news. We don’t plan to post often, maybe once a week or so at most, but feel free to unfollow if you want, your account will keep bridging.
And not three post down my feed:
That thread is hilarious and sad. I feel bad for the vets that got this shit show as their 250th. However, I hope Donny had a big fat narcissistic injury from it.
All I know is I got robbed out of a Viking Funeral, Hitler on Ice, AND Jews in Space.
Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money 😂
I really hope it’s better than History of the World, Part 2, which never should have been made. 😭
No, it’s really not. The initial attacks were hitting high ranking military officers and nuclear scientists at home in early morning hours, with rather specific accuracy, to cut the head off the IRI military response and IRGC. They did not send 100 missiles randomly into Tehran.
That’s like saying the Hezbollah beeper op was in population centers despite that it was very specifically directed at Hezbollah members intermixed with the population.
Don’t engage in false equivalence.
They attacked population centers, not military installations. Thats going to result in a harsh response. You’ll see political leaders in Iran and infrastructure like oil hit for that.
But no, it’s not going to be over until the enrichment capability is gone, at bare minimum. Just like 1987 with Iraq and 2007 with Syria.
@Nonilex He always sounds like such an idiot trying to sound smart.
