And the traces just being blobs of solder on a bare board does not really lend itself to… well… actually doing much with the PCB at all? It's visible in their videos that the adhesion is very poor, and doing any kind of fine pitch soldering would be absolutely impossible

Go to their site. They can print traces on any material (that the trace material will adhere to) and ultimately any shape.

If you need through-mounting, use their technique, then drill your holes. Glass can be drilled. But for surface mount, they’re trivia k will work.
