#WordWeavers 24 — Have you ever created an imaginary animal? What is it like? (catch-up because any excuse is good to talk about this 😁)
The kassilar! An animal that makes music with its entire body and bonds with a partner for life based on how well they can sound together. A human can also bond with it through music, but it's dangerous if it sounds bad because the animal can become enraged and attack.
@AlinaLeonova I think the first time we connected was over a post you made about the kassilar years ago! Such a cool creature.
#WordWeavers: Do any of your characters value being well-dressed?
In my #FindingHumanityseries, two characters care about their looks, both guys. Kahali loves his fancy clothes, just for the sheer beauty of them. Luckily, one of his fathers is a textile artist. Commander Savas also cares a lot about how he looks, for *reasons.*
#wordweavers If your MC became a dog, what kind of dog would they be?
Giulia would be her favorite kind of dog, a Maremma Sheepdog. They're the livestock guardian dogs of Tuscany. White, fluffy and so pretty, they are smart guards, great herders, and not the least bit afraid to take on wolves. They're big, gentle with kids and baby animals, and tireless in their guardianship. Giulia and her brother Alessandro had a very good boy named Fidelis when they were growing up.
@Bern Yeah, they’re the only ones who know and get the overall plan for my series, and the secrets of the characters.
#Wordweavers June 18 & 19: If you could have written any other author's book, what would it be? If you could choose another (living) author to remix your work, who would it be and why?
The cynical answer is that I'm just gonna let these two wishes cancel each other out, and get back to writing my own stuff.
But there's also probably something in here of me not reading enough to have good answers to these questions?
@PentUp Ha! I love this answer.😂
#WordWeavers: If you could choose another living author to remix your work, who would you choose and why?
That’s hard, because my initial thought is, “I don’t want anyone remixing my work.” But if I had to choose, it’s my kids. They’ve both written books, and they grew up with my characters. They know most of the secrets yet to be revealed and get what I’m doing.
@Bern Yeah, this won’t change what happens too much, as in she still has to meet three people. But how it goes down will hopefully be better. I have it mostly rewritten now. I think it’s better?🤷🏻♀️😂
@Bern I love noticing the similarities between owners and their pets, lol.
#WordWeavers: How much do you interact with libraries?
I used to do several writing groups and writing sessions every week in nearby libraries but since I moved a few years ago, I haven’t really connected here. I tried two writing groups but they weren’t right for my genres and the way I work.

MC POV: Whose advice do you value the most?As Kosh: I hold the most faith in the words of my beloved Delia. She's so brilliant that she's the truths I cannot perceive. And she can tell me I'm an idiot and still make me feel loved. That's beyond special.
@Bern Yesh, I’m pretty sure this change will work. It’s just, even when I save the original version, it feels weird to rewrite it, like I’m changing history, lol.
Yesterday, I started rewriting a chapter in WCAP that’s been bugging me. It wasn’t quite right for the first chapter in Marissa’s POV. It didn’t even hint at her weaknesses, and I hope what I’m doing now is better. Anyone else get nervous it’s the wrong move when rewriting?

@gahlearner @crcollins That makes sense😂
