I did it! Uni is done! Had my last exam this morning (went about as well as you'd expect, thank you for asking) and have emerged into a drizzly world of opportunity. There are so many things I can do with my new-found free-time like finishing my projects and learning about trees. First on the agenda: lots of sweet treats and films. :blobcatchristmasglowsticks:

At this point in time I’m doing well academically- getting consistent B’s on most assignments. but it took a lot of soul rotting work to get here and i think that’s worth more acknowledgment in the media.

This isn’t an angsty post because I don’t feel angsty about it but I do find it interesting that I have never seen a neurodivergent content creator, character or celebrity speak about their childhood as a below average achiever in class. I’ve only ever seen successful Neurodiverse people talk about their childhoods as ‘the gifted kid’ who got burnout and became forgotten- never the below average kid who worked so hard to raise themselves to average or more, that they burnt themselves out. they didn’t get the same pressure from others to succeed, only from themself. they joked about doing badly on tests with their friends. they pretended not to care so it would hurt less when they did badly until eventually they knew the only way to end that cycle would to be to work day and night until finally they reached the same goal a neurotypical person would reach with half the mental effort.
