@Emmacox Search on the tag WritingPrompt(s).

Also search for these prompt tags (prepending hash signs):
MastoPrompt
MicroPrompt (a bit sporadic)

You can also follow the group account @penprompts, to which people should only post prompts, not original works (violators get blocked). However, this group is not yet widely known, so you won't discover many prompt sources through it.

There are also some image-based prompts. but I don't use them (especially if they use AI-generated "art").
Cheers!

Space mining? Now there's a joke: what good is a pickax in space? No, for us it's mostly hoovering. You've no idea just how empty most of space is until you try to find something worthwhile in it.

There are those who asteroid-hop, but you waste more material redirecting your craft and constantly recalibrating your trajectory, then slowing to a proper speed, than you ever recoup from your typical asteroid. No the real gold—and platinum and ruthenium—is found just floating about in spicks and specks in space.

Some laugh at us "detectorists", but we make a comfy living, and if you miscalculate with a spoover, likely as not you'll trip across another "vein" soon enough that's equally rich. When pickings are poor, we can usually find the remnant of a comet's tail or dip around a planet's exosphere like a slingshot, but if you try to process too much debris at once, you're likely to plug the spoover—it's not built to handle that kind of density. We're after quality, not quantity.

@Michaelvaliant It's also how patterns in wood grain shift with the viewing/light angle, like lenticular displays.

The Lion and the Mouse

… Finding the lion caught in the hunters' trap, the mouse seized this opportunity of reversed positions to reciprocate the lion's great favor: she gnawed through the ropes. Now freed, the lion leapt upon his saviour and gobbled her up. As for the hunters, he wrought upon them a terrible, painful, lingering retribution. He then spread the story that he'd simply torn through the ropes, thereby bolstering rather than diminishing his fearsome reputation.

Moral: Those who would lead must carefully control the spin.

#MastoPrompt: reciprocate
(#130Prompt: positions)

Geese

Twilight nears; I watch
as an anserine gaggle gathers;
wings unfold, spreading wide;
flapping ripple of legs lifts to take flight.
In ones, twos, threes they detach from earth;
the flock shifts shape, reforms
as it cuts a sickle swath
through a crystal turquoise sky.
They barrel with beating synchrony
so close overhead
to arrow eastward on some errand.
I stand witness to this mundane but magnificent moment:
gander-grateful to be gifted this moment of grace
quietly special, splendorous,
unspattered.
