The chat gpt assignment i proposed at the top of this thread looks like this, this semester:

The chat gpt assignment i proposed at the top of this thread looks like this, this semester:
“ ChatGPT appears to pass medical school exams. Educators are now rethinking assessments”
The artist is Maggie Rudy, and she captioned this, "this year everyone is getting a tail sock."
I believe teachers don't explore reflections in circles because they don't understand the geometry behind it, which is based upon an altitude to the hypotenuse in a right triangle, tangents to circles, geometric means OB*OC=Radius^2. Simple and beautiful

Tiny Privacy Tip 🔒:
Do not give your name to your devices.
Give them their own unique unrelated name. Like Steve or Martha or CyberApple or MyMagicTinyPocketComputer ✨
Giving it your own name isn’t really helpful in any way to you, and through Bluetooth or WiFi scanning can make your name known to strangers in the vicinity you might not want to share your name with.
Giving weird unrelated names to your phones, computers, WiFi network, etc, is not only safer, it is also much cuter :awesome:

The Furby source code is public and heavily commented. For example, it turns the microphone off when the motors are running.
Furby was the 1998 version of ChatGPT and tons of people thought it actually slowly learned English words. The NSA was alarmed. However it turned out the "learning" process was just on a timer and the "microphone" only triggers on loud sounds.

This question didn't work over at that old social media thing, but maybe on Mastodon:
Does anybody know of a good #OpenSource #Notation software as a replacement for #MuseScore because I don't want to use it anymore (for various reasons). I'd need a macOS build (preferably ARM).
I'd love a boost for that. ❤️
Great video from Clive Humby, OBE - one of the visiting professors in my department. https://youtu.be/D049hhpD6WA

Scientists discovered why Roman buildings have survived so long. It's because they included an ingredient in their concrete – once thought to be from shoddy mixing – that helps the concrete self-heal as it cracks over time. The discovery may help future concrete mixes become self-healing and last longer.
@solderandchaos If you would like to look at the book we use, it's this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Standard-Excellence-Comprehensive-Method-Baritone/dp/0849759412/ref=sr_1_9?crid=SBEX65FDWO4K&keywords=standard+of+excellence+book+1+euphonium&qid=1672949913&sprefix=standard+of+excellence+book+1+euphonium%2Caps%2C58&sr=8-9 (baritone TC should be suitable for J Horn)
@solderandchaos A good place to start. Fingering patterns are the same for most brass instruments, which makes them easy to learn. I don't know if you've got a brass band with a training band nearby (ours would welcome you but is probably a bit far), but if so, that is a great way to learn - I never had any lessons, just picked it up as I progressed through training band.
@solderandchaos four is very good for first blows. They are your harmonics. Which instrument did you get?
@solderandchaos pics??
@solderandchaos ooh! Has it arrived yet?
Fittingly, 42 years to the day since The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy was first broadcast on TV.
