I like reading and (sometimes) writing #fanfiction. Love problematic ships of various stripes, they're fictional fun and a very pleasant mini-vacation from reality.
I also boost things that are of interest to me, please see my pins for what sort of subject matter might cross your feed between fannish things. I'm also @DDimetrodon, but I don't use it as much as I thought I would.
All I want is a 16 oz glass or steel cup that has a leak proof lid that stands up to shaking ruthlessly when I add sweetener to my cold brew tea AND is easy to hand wash. (So no fiddly straws or slider tabs or narrow mouths.)
This is surprisingly hard to find. I've tried mason jars and their lids fucking rust. Jam jars leak when I give them a shake.

I've been trying to find books on anime and anime criticism, or related fields. that could be visual media criticism, the history of anime, basically anything that you think would be useful for thinking more critically about anime, the medium, and putting these stories into a broader context
I'm most interested in books in this vein that are particularly good, rather than being laser focused on anime
any recommendations? boosts appreciated. I've struggled to find too much!

all three have made really lovely fediverse communities and I don't know that I've ever had a bad interaction with someone on any of these instances. and all three have really helped me start finding more of My People when it comes to My Interests. thank you to the three of you! Anyone know any artists who specifically know how to make emoji that look good at mastodon's size? (And are taking commissions) Discord/twitch emojis are larger, my commissions thus far haven't looked very good at mastodon sizes ( :selnia_smile: :selnia_crying: :selnia_ohoho: ), even with some artists who thought they could make it happen...not angry or anything but would love to find artist(s) with experience specifically at the (tiny!) size of mastodon
Watched Detective Conan: 14th Target (1998) and the phrase "Aの予感" was a key point. Conan comments that it's old fashioned slang (for a kiss). Curious, I tried looking it up in English to no avail, but searching in Japanese yielded plenty of Japanese queries as early as 2009 asking what it meant and if there was a B or C.
Slang moves faster than that these days lol cry....

I've always loved certain cuts of clothes but can't wear them because they're designed for small boobs and alas, putting them on with big boobs gets me even more of the sort of attention I don't want.
Which maybe isn't the same thing as flattering clothing? Or rather, is flattering in a way I don't want?
These days I go 100% for comfortable frumpy.

It's been interesting watching it all devolve on reddit in real time. And by interesting, I mean 'JFC they're competing with Elon for fastest speed run to crash the value of a company.'
IMO, an underrated fictional #lesbian romance (between two WOC!) is Delle Seyah Kendry and Aneela on the SYFY series #Killjoys, which blew my mind because it aired during the Bury Your Gays era. Aneela and Kendry both started out as terrible, vicious people who, in part through their love story, gradually learned to aim their anger and ruthlessness in more constructive directions and use their power for good. It was the first queer romance I ever saw that had a redemptive aspect to it, and the women remained powerful and formidable while trying to atone. Several of their lines and exchanges live rent free in my head (warning for spoilers):

The show also contained one of the fiercest, strongest #QueerPlatonic relationships I have ever seen, some disaster bis, and an adorable M/M romance, and none of them got buried either! This show buried none of its gays! And it didn’t get canceled before its planned ending, so the story arc is complete!

I'm generally not a fan of RPF, given that unlike other fanfiction, it's been shown to have real world consequences, plus my utter lack of interest in celebs. But you raise an interesting point bc while vtubers aren't Real People, their fundamental appeal IS the personality, and they don't really exist in a fictional story of their own you can play with, basic lore/premise aside.
But I also love canon divergence AUs, not modern/no powers/INO AUs, so I'm biased.

I had a dream that was the latest in a series of same-continuity but not recurring dreams, only this time it featured 2 such continuities: one where I went whole go hog in trying to be an idol, and one where I tried to stir drama for my 15 mins of fame as a walk-on in a reality show.
In this dream I was in the idol continuity, ran into one of the reality show stars, and was grateful this wasn't the continuity where I was briefly on the show.
I woke up thinking it's Saturday. Why? Lol.

I relate to the confusion. Unraveling whether a tendency is depression, PTSD, ADHD, autism, and/or abuse is nigh impossible for me, which sucks because some have different approaches for treatment and management. Parsing out whether, for example, procrastination, is PTSD/depression, fear/avoidance due to abuse, ADHD...or, in actual fact, just laziness is hard because I don't know to what extent I can give myself leeway, or if I should push myself harder.
