We all originate from a human species originally only native to Africa. Even the Native Americans migrated - though to a place where no other humans lived at that time. But their Asian ancestors encountered another human species in Europe and Asia: the Neanderthal.

Migration lies in human nature and is quite common - so common that it is hard to find indigenous Europeans (like the Sàmi, for instance). Worldwide, only 350 million people are still indigenous - less than 4.5 %.

@jillholl @cdarwin Yeah. It was particularly this part which made me speechless: "[Trump] didn't say he was going to do this, that he was going to go after people who have been here for a long time".

So it is still okay for them, if it happens to others, that are "less long" in U.S. than they are, isn't it?

Während in der westlichen Welt der Alkoholkonsum zunehmend zurückgeht, hat Indien (ein Land mit einem traditionell eher geringen Alkoholkonsum) mit einer starken Zunahme zu kämpfen. Und genau in diesem Moment erinnern sich die Briten wieder daran, wie erfolgreich sie damals darin waren, die Chinesen opiumabhängig zu machen ...

@ueeu @euAlternatives Yeah, it's a bit unclear. Working in compliance myself, things like that make me suspicious. I continue using OsmAnd, an Open Source Dutch Open Street Map client. As it is the case with many open source solutions, the interface is less intuitive than that of other navigators, but once familiarised, it gets the job done quite well.

@Daojoan Technically, all medicine is potentially toxic (particularly when overdosed). As is alcohol. And our salad is typically seasoned with acetic acid and sodium chloride, and to boost our immune system, we consume fruits that contain high amounts of ascorbic acids - and people are even known to use bodylotions containing with niacin (also know as nicotinamide) to protect their skin.

In den USA werden die aber immer weniger besteuert ... Was wird also passieren: die Zölle werden Produktionen im Ausland ausschließen, US Produktionskosten steigen und damit die Preise für Kino und Streaming, wodurch Zuschauerzahlen fallen und Raubkopien zunehmen ...

@Southfrenchy Effectivement c'est du marketing combiné avec ces incompatibilités délibérées pour lesquelles Microsoft est surtout connu. Et ces produits ne sont même pas bon - souvent ils existent de meilleure alternatives, mais ils savent bien implémenter des normes artificielles et propriétaires afin de rendre la migration aussi difficile et coûteux que possible. Et comme pour un trafiquant de drogue, le début est souvent gratuit jusqu'à ce que tu deviennes dépendant.

@Southfrenchy Il fut un temps où les pays de l'UE proposaient eux-mêmes des services informatiques et du matériel. Siemens, par exemple, a construit lui-même des processeurs 8088/8086 (sous licence) dans les années 80 et le célèbre Open/Libre Office est basé sur le code source libéré du Star Office d'une entreprise allemande qui a été rachetée par Sun.

Les grandes boîtes américaines ont usurpé l'entier marché européen.
