Anyone in my socials enjoy visiting Disney theme parks? I'm working on an iPhone app that may appeal to Disney park fans and I'd love to find some folks to share an early beta with. If you would be interested, please message me back.
I like people, software, and helping them work together. I love family, coding for all Apple platforms, scifi, britcoms & starship modeling. iOS, macOS, visionOS, tvOS, watchOS.

Are you an Apple Music subscriber using iOS, Mac, or tvOS? Would you like to try a beta of my free app for Siri Playlists? If so, please accept this TestFlight invitation for DJ Mood. I would really appreciate your feedback.
With Liquid Glass, I like what some developers chose to implement: completely distinct UI layouts for iPhone (closer to what Apple has done) from iPad, Mac, and tvOS, such as a NavigationSplitView for iPad and/or Mac versus TabView for iPhone and tvOS. This feels far more platform appropriate than the adaptive TabView for all platforms nonsense that Apple would have us use, following their demos and examples.
Ok then…Iate to the party, but I decided to try to try some Liquid Glass tab bars with an accessory view and stuff, naively optimistic that it wouldn’t be as broken and weird as so many of y’all have said it is.
I stand corrected. I feel your frustration, folks. This is a day of coding I wish I would have spent doing something else.
I’m available for hire as an iOS dev! 👋
I’m open to remote, in-person, or hybrid. Either in the US or Europe. Looking for full time, something new and exciting
I’m ready for a new adventure!
Reposts appreciated and DM’s are open #fedihire
Well, the startup I'm at has decided to pivot and no longer has a macOS client in their product roadmap, so I find myself with some time on my hands and looking for a new position.
So ... if you've got a need for a Senior/Principal frameworks engineer who cares about developer experience that can work from Utah... hit me up! 😄
(and to preempt the responses... I'm fine ❤️. I'm not terribly surprised, and I'm going to be OK. I'm looking forward to having a bit of a break, honestly)
Help me get the word out?

I was laid off recently so I'm looking for a new job!
I have a decade of experience as a web backend dev writing APIs in Python and Ruby in a variety of frameworks. I'm usually the git and Postgres expert on the team, and if you leave me alone I'll start writing tests and doing security updates. Used to help run PyLadies Vancouver, now PyCascades. Looking for: full-remote, hiring in Canada, minimal LLM nonsense
Oh snap, Marvel's Thunderbolts* was just released for streaming on Disney+ in 3D for Apple Vision Pro. That's my Friday night sorted! 😃 😃 😃
My final piece for Zócalo Public Square's Sketchbook feature has to be my favourite - the Long-eared owl
@sommer thanks for sharing this Sommer, this will be true for me as well soon and I value your perspective!
@cyberlyra so happy and proud! Congratulations!
This week’s drive, we’re trying to do 1900 by Saturday. If you’d like to match donations, DM me! We can keep it anonymous.
@vrhermit have you ever seen a way in RealityKit to add a highlight around an Entity, like when an Entity is selected in Reality Composer Pro? Put a little glow outline around it?
@SeanMcTex Heya, I’ve got a question…I’ll probably need a new job soon but I’d rather be honest and try to learn something even if I blow my chance at this one.
I am a very experienced iOS developer but I have zero experience with TCA. Why use it? (The 1-3 most impactful reasons). Is it equally good with SwiftUI as UIKit? Does it make it harder to use Observation and Swift Concurrency?
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I’ve been made redundant at my job. If you want to hire an excellent Apple platforms developer (iOS, etc.) with 17 years of experience, time at Apple, and lots of SwiftUI experience, or a great Ruby on Rails developer, reach out.
Full-time or freelance. Ready to go immediately. Please spread the word. #Swift #RubyOnRails #GetFediHired
reminder that I have 20+ years of data experience and I'm looking for some kind of Data Scientist/Analyst/Analytics Engineering gig, remote in the US (I'm in Portland, OR)
I would like to be doing something that makes the world a bit better, and every one has data, so it seems like that should be possible.

Reboosts and links to job posts are most welcome!
@danielkasaj useful data point, thanks!
I also tried installing Tahoe as a VM using Bushel app, then Xcode 26 with LM Studio running a local model. I made a template app and told the chatbot to Document the ContentView. The result was a mixture of new and old code and had many compile errors. No thanks…I’ll document it myself. 🥲 then I tried to install a second model and ran out of disk space 😭
So that was a bad combo.
Ok, I'm truly torn. One the one hand, I'd love to try macOS Tahoe beta with Xcode 26 and try coding with some AI support to see how that goes. Should I:
* go all in, upgrade my laptop to Tahoe
* partition a volume and reboot into it to try this stuff out or
* fogetaboutit, it's not worth it
Also, since I'm privacy focused and also cheap TBH, I'd prefer to use local LLMs to look over my code rather than pay for a cloud service that can do as they like. How does that factor in?
Thoughts?
