Time for an #introduction. I'm Pete, a #neurodivergent and #actuallyautistic #humanbeing who is enthusiastic about #technology especially #linux and #unix systems.

I've been on #Mastodon for a few years now and really enjoy it. After having many positive interactions with folks from the BSD Cafe, I recently joined this instance for tech-specific posts.

Yep. That's a stalling tactic. When people argue whether or not a parking ticket is a valid reason to deport someone, that person is in limbo and by the time a judge decides that it's not a valid reason, another false reason will be found anyway.

And since most drivers had a parking ticket at some point in their life, you can use it to deport almost anyone you don't like.

And they know what they're doing.

The fiction by @pluralistic is great. Cyberpunk that transports me as Cory Doctorow himself is telling me a story, includes history and technical info I often hadn't understood as well before, and all the while randomly throws in mouthwatering, word-based food porn of the highest caliber. I mean... ??? Bravo!

#MayDay is a good time to remember how unions fought, bled, and died to get us the the rights we take for granted today.

They didn't wait for slow progress of changing the system solely through the ballot box; they came together to force change by confronting the powerful in solidarity.

Today is a good day for us in the US to learn about The Battle of Blair Mountain, which #BehindTheBastards covers well in this podcast.

Last weekend at the #TeslaTakedown, towards the end a nice guy, college aged or not much older, approached me and asked if we were a specific group.

I said, "No, there's a website! Our local Indivisible gets the event permit for this, but people just show up." I showed him the Tesla Takedown website and the various other protest sites and told him about my own experiences. He seemed excited to join in, talking about how angry he's been at the Republicans and the collaborators.

How will you celebrate #MayDay this year?

I know the #50501Movement isn't perfect, but they have been doing a pretty good job of getting folks out to protest against many of the policies that signal the rising tide of fascism.
