@Klingsor thank you so much.
Archaeologist. #Sudan. #Malta. #Cambridge. Mostly focused on prehistory and currently working at Jebel Moya, Sudan. Interests include prehistoric figurines, pottery, big stones :-) #archaeology #archaeodons
How weird. I can’t see it.
Hrmph. I put a description on all my pictures but I can’t see it 🤷🏽♀️
We live in the village where we do lots of activities, including on-site flotation for botanical remains and regular gatherings to share our findings.
We have found a number of small figurines and ostrich egg shell beads in abundance.
Anyway I am not going to post pictures of #skeletons - those belong in specific publications. But here’s a glimpse of the site and folks at work, posted with permission.
Mastodon is a lot slower than Twitter. I don’t know why. But it is. It’s taking painfully long to even upload images.
The main architectural feature thus far is the House of Boulders built by Henry #Wellcome - you can find out more on our blog https://thejebelmoyaproject.wordpress.com/
I have no idea why some images are blurred and some aren’t. I promise you I’m only posting lovely landscapes. Anyway. Here is Jebel Moya.
Gosh this Mastodon thing is annoying. It keeps eating messages. Trying again. En route to Jebel Moya we stop along the Blue Nile.
@aeder thank you. I’m using the mobile mastodon app so I need to find my password again. Currently not risking asking for a rest 😆
@natashareynolds thanks! I’m using the mastodon app. Lemme take a look at your link. Much appreciated xx
Would anyone kindly explain how to do threads on here? Also what’s the equivalent of trending topics? How do I find stuff that’s not from follows?
What’s the equivalent of trending topics? How do I see feeds other than my own list of people I follow? #help
Our Facebook page is a bit more active although that’s mostly during the dig season when you can follow our excavations almost live :-) https://www.facebook.com/JebelMoya
I’m not sure how threads work here sorry! So I’m just replying to myself 😆 Anyway this is part of our larger project. Our blog is here. https://thejebelmoyaproject.wordpress.com/ and we try to publish in English and Arabic.
Finally out - our work with our #Sudanese colleagues.
