TIL why (in British English) we don't use a dot after the “St” short form of “Street”.

The “t” in “St” is *not* the second letter of “Street”, but the sixth. So it's not an abbreviation (like “Prof.” for “Professor”, “etc.” in “et cetera”, etc.), it's a contraction (like “Dr” in “Doctor”, “Mr” in “Mister”, “St” in “Saint” and so on) and contractions don't have a dot.

I have nothing but respect for the engineers building Tahoe’s Liquid Glass UI. It’s no small feat. But after a few hours in a VM configuring it for my typical workflows it feels like the early criticisms of Aqua and Vista combined… the Fischer Price vibes are strong and the wasted space in service of design flair is atrocious. It may be “about content” but that content is lessened in quantity and quality. I don’t need a 20 point blur ‘pocket’ to scroll into for a list.

I was laid-off and am looking for a new role.

Working where design meets code is my jam. I am skilled at building accessible design system components, working with Web Components APIs, and creating scalable CSS architecture.

I have been testing the new 25.06 update for PostmarketOS on my OnePlus 6T and I must say the team has done an amazing work! Camera, GPS, Android apps and general system works well and is now, in my opinion daily driveable. Everything I personally wanted!
