I live a couple of miles from the Ohio River, where the river represented the border between freedom and slavery.
This painting honors John P Parker, who lived just 7 miles from my home in Ripley, Ohio. Born into slavery, Parker learned to read, bought his freedom, owned his own business and helped hundreds of slaves cross the river.
His home is depicted on the far left of the painting.

If your VA doc refuses to care for you because of politics, marriage status, religion, etc., look them up to see if they have any state licenses, and any board certifications. If so, report them to the state medical board and complain to their speciality board. Many VA docs decide to do other things later on, or have other side gigs, and you can ruin their non-VA ability to practice. Fuck ‘em.

About #EVs: EVs are inevitable. They cannot be stopped from replacing internal combustion engines because they're simply a far, far better technology.
By killing EVs in the US, all the Republicans are doing is putting the US auto industry to a slow death, to be killed by non-US producers who aren't being politically hamstrung.
This is purely a short-term giveaway to the fossil fuel companies, also doomed in the long run, while they continue to kill us with pollution and climate change.
