Stepping out of the shower tonight I noticed in the full-length mirror that my ass is now round. It had previously been flat my entire life, as a tall thin white girl. Running is giving me a Physique.

Pictured: my girl, taken from the treadmill that is sculpting my butt. Now that she has leapt to probably a third grade reading level, she loves it.

Some weeks, never on my lap. Some weeks, it’s three times a day. Adolescent cats are finicky.

I enjoy the company on my weekly WFH day. Usually at the desk; today, on my bed. I have cut out caffeine (for the fiftieth time; it won’t last!) and left my decaf coffee at work yesterday, but need some kind of coziness if I can’t get a hot drink.

I spent my formative years watching the Bills suck at football every season, with the only guaranteed victories being games against the Dolphins. (Their fanbase remains the only one of those not currently playing in the NFL postseason to not have converted to temporary Buffalo fans, anecdotally.) Only one game, in all those years, failed to sell out and suffered a blackout in Buffalo, despite that the Bills had the second-smallest market in the league with one of the largest stadiums. And I watched them all.

At this moment in history in particular, I need the Bills to win it all. I need *something*. And, especially against KC, I’ll be damned if I can’t vividly picture this exact thing happening in cruel clarity tomorrow evening. 😩
