Do you ever have moments when you're trying to think of something - like remembering a philosopher's name from a course from decades ago; or trying to remember the recipe you learned when you were a kid; whatever - and you remember it days later, after it's not a gods damn thing any more?
Diogenes & adding the flour after you mix everything else! [pouts]

"Small government" in a conservative sense means a pro-bigotry, anti-environment oligarchy AT BEST.

I gotta admit, it's always fun to see that reaction irl, just the ~wait~ ~what?~ ~Ohhhh!~ reaction is delightful! lol
Humans, making everything into an innuendo for 100k years plus!
I keep on hearing about cities rife with crime and violence while the only increase in violence that I can see is a bunch of violent white people in government sending the military and their guns into cities everywhere.
It's not the cities that are rife with violence and crime. It's our government that is rife with violence and crime.

There was a resurgence of it's use (the 'Jesus fish' car decal) in the hippy movement and some of the different churches here in the US iirc.
It was used as motifs and decoration historically; but it lost it's direct association as being the symbol(s) of the church or christ, until that resurgence.

Alzheimerās reversed in mice as scientists restore the brainās āgatekeeper.ā Spanish and Chinese researchers have reversed Alzheimerās symptoms in mice using nanoparticles that repair the brainās protective barrier. The treatment cleared up to 60% of amyloid plaques within an hour and restored memory over months by āremindingā the blood-brain barrier how to clear waste. Scientists say the approach could open new paths for treating dementia in humans. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/10/07/alzheimers-reversed-in-mice-under-breakthrough-treatment/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

I mean, historically appropriation is as christian as Christmas, right? lol

Yeah, the ichthys was used for centuries - [brain grinds] - up till like the 6th century I wanna say?
the US is built on non-stop genocide, eugenics, and colonialism. The "good times" people tell you about is when they could do that to other people, instead of it being done to them

The focus shifting from "how to be a good person" to "your immortal soul is in peril if you don't obey" was a major factor to it being prominent.
Along with the fact that the cross is an extremely common design in every human culture so it helped christian appropriation of other cultural stories and symbolism.
Spending time in a household of christians is an odd experience for me.
On so many of the house's walls, there hung christian crosses of various configurations and aesthetics.
And without the cultural overlay of christianity to alter my perceptions, I saw walls adorned with an executioner's device from eons ago.
It was oddly creepy, although seasonally appropriate, given that Halloween is so near.
After a day or two, I learned to avert my eyes when I encountered these death objects.
