An odd selection from the Charity shops yesterday. Most look like they have been played no more than a couple of times. Prices were from £2 to £9. #Vinyl #SecondHand
Record collector since the late 70s and gig goer from the start of 1980. Far too many records and gigs over the last 40 plus years.
Love cooking and I do try and grow veg in the garden.

#NowPlaying️ Darklands Versions by Fontaines D.C. on Partisan Records from 2019. This 12 inch EP brings together some of their early singles and a couple of new tracks. Fontaines are a great live band, fortunate to see them a couple of times in 2019. #Vinyl
#NowPlaying The Very Special World Of Lee Hazlewood on Music For Pleasure records from 1969. This was a budget UK release of the album from 1966. For something over 55 years old it still sounds great. #Vinyl
#NowPlaying Girls In The Garage a Various Artists compilation on Romulan Records from 1987. This is a US pressing on Red Vinyl of tracks from the 60s which are probably rather hard to get hold of in their original form. #Vinyl
An image from when I was walking to the Forum in Kentish Town last night.

The Wedding Present were rather good tonight a 20 song set starting with their newest song and working backwards to finish with their debut single. The band looked to be really enjoying the evening as did the packed Forum in Kentish Town. #Gigs
On the train into London (3rd time in 4 days). Might go to Tate Britain then have something to eat before ending up in Kentist Town for The Wedding Present at the Forum this evening (40th Anniversary tour). Great support band tonight as well - Mozart Estate (led by Lawrence who used to be in Felt). #Gigs
@revivalrecords I picked up a copy of the same sampler a few months back in an Oxfam, similar price. Although I have not got round to listening to it yet!
Last time I was at the Scala would have been in 1985, they used to host Psychedelic Film Festivals that ran throughout the night. The festivals were organised by Alice In Wonderland. Went to a couple of them.
There is more info about the festivals here -

#NowPlaying️ The Only Ones Self Titled LP on CBS records from 1984. This is a reissue of their debut album from 1978, issued as part of the CBS nice price series. Playing this as I will be seeing Peter Perrett at the Scala this evening, looking at recent setlists there may be the odd Only Ones track included in tonight's performance along with lots of his excellent solo output. Tonight's gig is scheduled to conclude at 9.45 which is also a bonus. #Vinyl #Gigs
An image of Robyn Hitchcock from this evening. As I was there early I ended up sitting on the bench in front of the performance area (4 feet away from me). Lots of great songs (as always) and a few with Emma Swift. @keefeglise you will be pleased to hear that he did talk about his father taking him on a trolley bus in Reading in the 60s. #Gigs
@keefeglise I'm sure he must have done that at some point over the last 40 plus years.
Waiting to get on board for a gig this evening. Must be one of the most unusual places I have been to see a gig. Tonight I will be seeing Robyn Hitchcock. #Gigs
#NowPlaying 13:9:88 by Frank Sidebottom on In Tape records from 1989. Lots of talking between Frank and Little Frank with a number of songs in between the chat. Frank was aways a really fun live performer, fortunate to have seen him in concert a number of times. #Vinyl
@mrowster Just hope he holds on until next week.
#NowPlaying How The West Was Won by Peter Perrett on Domino Records from 2017. He is playing in London at the Scala next week, looking forward to seeing him.

45 years ago I went to see Dead Kennedys and UK Decay. West Runton Pavilion was a music venue on the North Norfolk Coast, the village itself is very small and used to have concerts a couple of times a week. Tickets would have been around the £2 mark. I still have a bootleg cassette tape of the Dead Kennedys performance from this gig. #Gigs
Overheard at a car boot sale this morning - If it wasn't for the Green party I would vote Reform (it seemed to come off the back of the Question Time performance this week).
Probably not a typical representation of the electorate but any vote away from Reform is a positive step. #Politics
#NowPlaying️ Have Love Will Travel by Thee Headcoatees on Damaged Goods Records from 2008. This is a yellow vinyl reissue of the album from 1992. Picked this up on our travels this week (from Another Planet in Cromer, Norfolk). Some really good garage rock, the vocals are shared across the band. #Vinyl
#NowPlaying Burning Oil by Skeletal Family on Red Rhino records from 1984. Giving this a listen as they are the support band for Theatre Of Hate this evening in London (last time I saw Skeletal Family would have been mid 80s when they opened for Siouxsie and the Banshees). Looks like I might be getting wet on my walk to the train station later this evening. Expect the average crowd age tonight to be fairly close to 60. #Vinyl #Gigs
