I didn't think I would have to explain this on the Fediverse, but since I am still seeing people finger wag about the Waymos:

Google and Waymo are legitimate targets. They flat out said they would be providing footage from their cars to the police and other agencies. Disabling those cars is an act against the belligerent combatants themselves.

If tech wants to become Trump's new panopticon supplier, they can and should be under the understanding that they aren't neutral third parties.

Greta Thunberg continues to be one of the most mature voices in mainstream media. After having arrived in Paris, a journalist asks her what she has to say about the American tyrant's comment that "She's an angry woman that needs anger management". Thunberg's answer is short and sweet: "Well, I think the world needs a lot more angry women, especially with everything going on right now."

People who say things like "we achieved racial equality through MLK doing peaceful protests" tend to ignore three major facts:
1. We never achieved racial equality.
2. There were literally hundreds of violent race riots in the 60s.
3. They killed MLK. They fucking shot that dude anyway. Come on.

My shit is on auto-delete, but here’s a sampling of what is in my backpack when I go to protests:
1. NAR-brand CAT tourniquets
2. Roller gauze (wound packing)
3. Gloves
4. Goggles
5. Mole foam and mole skin
6. Athletic tape (cloth med tape)
7. A few ACE wraps (pressure dressings)
8. Bandaids
9. Tampons and pads
10. Candy and snacks
11. Gatorade (the small bottles)
12. Fresh water in squeeze bottles
13. Extra masks for folks
14. Sunscreen
15. Trauma shears (never a knife!)

Things you should put on burns in the field:
1. Dry, clean (preferably sterile), dressing (gauze for instance).

Things you should put on traumatic wounds in the field:
1. Clean water if there is lots of visible contamination and transport time may be very long.
2. Clean, dry dressings.

In the ER, I’m gonna take down whatever is on there, irrigate the fuck out of the wound with saline or clean water, and repair it/dress it. Don’t need anything gooey, slimy, or sticky to scrape off.

The biggest health risk for many people in summer protests is dehydration and heat illness. Bring water. If you’re gonna be walking/dancing on blacktop in full sun, plan on a liter or two per hour minimum. That’s a lot of bevvies to carry. Take breaks, wear loose clothes and a wide brimmed hat, and have an exit strategy if you start feeling bad. Ambulances may not be able to get anywhere near you.

Ventura County definitely hit hard today with ICE raids.

This was a huge, very well organized march despite short notice. We have a mature movement that is capable of flash mass protests across the country!

ICE is rattled by this. National Guard soldiers are talking in online forums like "What the hell is this? Is this what we took an oath for?"

Make no mistake, we are making headway against these fascists. They are desperate, weak people who were never very bright to begin with, or they wouldn't need bigotry.

June 14th is gonna be off the chart.

Really feels like LA Home Depot could be the last, desperate attempt of an increasingly unpopular regime to maintain power and the illusion of legitimacy. Which is a sentence I never thought I'd ever write.

Between prices still being high, benefits being at risk, children being arrested by ICE, parents being separated from their children, it feels like we're approaching an actual tipping point.

Trump's decision to deploy the National Guard against protests the *LAPD* commended for their nonviolence is a clear attempt to escalate, sow chaos, and chill dissent.

First with the ICE raids, then with this militarized response, we're seeing the tyranny of the Trump regime on full display. Tyranny against our unions, our cities, and our neighbors.

People who say movies ‘pushing an agenda’ are what is destroying film, and then hold up ‘The Matrix’ and ‘Star Wars’ as examples of the alternative are, frankly, lacking intelligence, critical thinking and awareness. They are also probably Conservatives.

Don't be fooled today by yellow journalism phrases like "deployed troops". In any other scenario, the deployment of armed military units against a peaceful civilian population without consent is called war.

Trump declared war on the city of Los Angeles yesterday. That's what happened.
