Just my opinion, but extra long hours, high-intensity, going hardcore... These are variations on "crunch mode", which isn't so much a shipping strategy as it is a symptom of planning and organizational failure.
It also doesn't work if you want to maintain shipping quality.

I was talking with a friend about it.
90% of what I consume is indie media. Bcz I learned habits that allow me to find cool indie stuff seamlessly.
But it can be hard for ppl who are used to just consume what is trending, to just go off the grid with their media.
Maybe we need something like a "manual to abandon corporate media". It could be a Zine.

It’s been so long since I used a retweet button - how did they work? Was it one click and done, or did you click through to Twitter and log in? Twitter was single instance software, so I suppose you logged in on first use of their widget and then you were logged in for ages…

@mike yes, this age basing on the treatment plans is ridiculous - middle child’s autism was handled completely differently because we got into the child psych *2 days* late (having had to wait 4 months for the appointment and I didn’t know about the cut off :( )

To this extent I'm really interested to know how the age breakdown of people on the #Fediverse. On one hand it would seem to make sense to me that most people here remember the "old internet" before the centralization and they're here to rekindle that flame of independence. On the other hand the youths are generally pretty up on this whole technology thing. I grew up on the internet and since then smartphones have become even more ubiquitous.

The thing about Twitter is that it really lacks a lot of the features you'd expect from a true Mastodon replacement.
For example, there's no way to edit your toots (which they, confusingly call "tweets"—let's face it, it's a bit of a silly name that's difficult to take seriously).
"Tweets" can't be covered by a content warning. There's no way to let the poster know you like their tweet without also sharing it, and no bookmark feature.
There's no way to set up your own instance, and you're basically stuck on a single instance of Twitter. That means there's no community moderators you can reach out to to quickly resolve issues. Also, you can't de-federate instances with a lot of problematic content.
It also doesn't Integrate with other fediverse platforms, and I couldn't find the option to turn the ads off.
Really, Twitter has made a good start, but it will need to add a lot of additional features before it gets to the point where it becomes a true Mastodon replacement for most users.

@accidentalciso @hacks4pancakes @tanepiper You can build a community, (ie start a server that you plan to have other people in the community have accounts on) but it’s a big job and it’s rare that there is a business benefit in doing so. IMHO

@hacks4pancakes @tanepiper @accidentalciso I would have inverses the plan: run the server, but as “this is my business” and only she (and any staff she may bring on) have an account. It’s the formal business presence, the same as you have a domain name, not, say, a subdomain on shopify.
