@Edent sounds exactly like what I've come to expect from them – they won't ever fix your problem, but they will kick up a huge PR stink and act all aggrieved every time you rightfully call them out on stuff

I've just been asked by @matrix to delete this post. They had the audacity to blame *me* for giving publicity to the problems they have.
If you can't run a service safely, you shouldn't run it at all.
The curious (read: baffling) case of a (presumably) profitable government contractor and their absolute commitment to abusing #OpenSource—for a decade now! 👺
@ben I read book 1 last night! Enjoyed it! 😁 Gonna try and read the rest on my trip this week! I love a nice short book like these.
I’m going to be speaking at Container Days in September (along with four of my Giant Swarm colleagues!) and I was just looking at the full speaker line up and WOW! It’s going to be a great few days! Very excited!

@thilo I’d wait either way. Get annoyed with waiting for episodes 🤣
I’m not really keen on audiobook but I have the ebooks loaded onto my iPad and plan to start on my flight tomorrow! 😁
@thilo I haven’t read the books yet but planning to do so before watching the series. This post has convinced me that that is likely for the best!
The one thing I'm scratching my head re: the #Murderbot streaming series:
How do people who don't know the books experience the series?
I'm quite familiar with the (audio)books - I re-listen regularly. And I got the impression that at least the first two episodes are densely packed with details - rewatched a number of times and still found new things.
I wonder if this density is confusing / overwhelming for folks who don't have background knowledge from the books?
:boost_requested:
@ben ohhhh just what I like! They’re going on the list then!
Regarding Murderbot: should I read the book before watching the show? (I’m a very slow reader)
@AlexB I spy both a Giant Swarm sticker and one of my Kubernetes Pokéballs! 💙
I added another batch of fridge magnets made from KubeCon stickers!
And I'm running out of space :P

THE GOAL IS REACHED! 1.000.000 signatures to demand the EU bans conversion therapy!
Congrats and thank you to all of us that stand with our LGBTQ+ friends!

Don't stop! Stretch goal is 1.500.000 :)
See, cookie banners are not allowed, they've never been allowed, they're still not allowed, and that's now been confirmed.

[update: I have been corrected, thank you. This may help a little, but it's quite specific and about the TCF consent banner, not all banners. Apologies for misleading anyone. Cookie banners are still not allowed though!]
Yeah steak bake spider is nice, but have you seen the Pret-a-Spider?
A very fun toy:
Go to a UK location. A delightful spidermap of the nine closest branches of Greggs is generated. Move around and the visualisation smoothly adjusts too.

This is a timesink.
EU citizens, if you want in while you can, there's a EU citizen's petition for the EU to ban "conversion therapy" (this is as ominous as it sounds) of LGBTQs, with 7 days left to sign.
It will not make the threshold, but might be able to rack up a few more country thresholds— I'm happy to note Spain just hit it. Belgium and The Netherlands are the next best bets as they're over 65%; If you know queer-friendly folks in those countries, maybe a good time to forward this:

@sendung Yeah, the decline isn't political I don't think - other than budgets being set by parties.
About 8-10 years ago some of the best engineers I knew were working on building the new Gov.uk and they did some increadible work, especially around accessible design.
Traveling to the #UK from the EU seems to require a Smartphone with iOS or Android.
Here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta#how-long-it-takes they state that you can also apply for an ETA online.
But on the "apply online" page https://apply-for-an-eta.homeoffice.gov.uk/apply/electronic-travel-authorisation/easier-on-the-app they only mention the app.
