It's about a shy girl who accidentally becomes the mayor of a haunted ghost town full of scary monsters. By solving puzzles, playing minigames, and repairing buildings, she gradually becomes brave enough to talk to the monsters, and discovers that they're actually friendly, and would love to join her town and help her rebuild it.

So show me your jumpscare gross-ups!
I've attached some examples of my "programmer art" ones that are already in the game, but I'd prefer to see ones that you've already made or ones for different characters than have you go to the trouble of making ones for these characters.

What does that mean??? Well, in Mayor May Knott, May sometimes gets scared by the monsters in the game and runs away. WHEN she gets scared, there's a full-screen, gross-up "jumpscare" image of that monster.
"Gross ups" are like the highly-detailed still images that sometimes appear in Spongebob or Ren and Stimpy.

Hi Mastodons! LOOOOONG time no post!
Happily, Mayor May Knott is nearing the end of production, and we've hired some professional artists to get us past the finish line and make the art look... well... professional.
One thing we really need, however, is a "jumpscare gross-up" artist, and maybe that's you!
there's still a ton more work to do (even before a much-needed gigantic art pass), but being able to play it from start to finish even with a few simplified elements is a HUGE milestone.
This will mean nothing to anyone, but this morning I finally finished the last of the haunted houses for Mayor May Knott.
That means there are a total of 27 haunted houses, each with its own ghost, with their own record.
It's entirely possible I'll finish up the last couple of remaining tasks to make the game playable from start to finish by the end of 2023! (But I have to hurry!)

...and here's the acapella version of a lovely new song that teaches you how to make stew. I was originally going for a Noel Coward style, but it ended up also sounding a lot like something out of a 60s Disney movie like Mary Poppins or something. Which I think is great.
hello, #screenshotsaturday ! Long time no see! I've been working full-time on a paid gig making another cool project, so I haven't had much time for Mayor May Knott.
However! I found some time this weekend, so I did a little more work. Here's a screenshot of a new house I made. ❤️ As one would expect, this is a witch's house.
I also made a couple new songs, and wanted to include one, but you apparently can't put both an image and an audio clip in the same toot, so I'll add the song in a reply.

Granny Knott is May Knott's grandmother, who loves to knit things! Including bodies that Dr. Dolphinstein can attach heads to!
Sally Port is a pirate radio, and the mother of Tawny Port. A former patient of Dr. Dolphinstein, she suggests inviting him to town to help others!
