@boredzo how is your Swift? We’re ostensibly looking for a typical senior iOS dev but I could see your particular profile working out better for what much of what our org actually needs. As usual convincing the important folks of that would be the hard part.

@codecaffeine @louie @chockenberry the “pretty pictures” UI design workflow. Make some pretty pictures, get important people excited about them, hand over to engineers.

Then move on to the next thing, your job is done!

@Middaparka @louie it can be both, but used to be they were tools first and now are consumption devices first.

Which may be one of the main reasons the macOS UI changes of the last years have rubbed so many people the wrong way. They are still meant to be tool-first devices but are being evolved with the sensibilities of consumption-first devices.

@mrudokas I’m seeing a lot of enums that basically come with a number of properties and functions whose implementation is a giant switch.

If you see that you’re likely far better off with a struct and declared static values. Much more flexible and easier to manage.

There are other instances where the rule applies but that’s the one that brought it to mind. It’s an ask to think it through not a prohibition 😂

@mrudokas a well managed struct ends up being a better solution most of the time.
