I bought it, played a few rounds, and the time per game went from about 1 or 3 minutes to 40 minutes in about ten plays. If I'm going to devote that kind of time to a game I want to be challenged.

VS is a triumph of casual gaming, no doubt, but in that same 40 minutes I can play three games of Robotron and it's a frantic fun time.

I love the way it works for you, thanks for sharing your experience with it.

When I moved to Aus 20 years ago the trains in QLD were horrible, always late or simply skipped. Since then they've done nothing but improve. I just assumed every other state was doing better.

@Thegriffyn my simple non-expert understanding is: every transaction has a cost, in time taken, cycles consumed, storage used. A tenth of a second is fast for up to ten people but faster that you're a-queuin'.

You gotta be sure that everything a user does is received, processed, looked up, overwritten, updated, stored, and sent out, to and from systems that may not be as fast or have speedy connections.

Stuff starts to pile up, backlogs need to be spooled and processed, etc etc etc.

@tursilion yeah I seem to run into the limits of middleware about 30 seconds after starting the first lines of code. Something in my brain subconsciously spots an edge case and beelines for it. 😊

@evcricket Totally understand where you're coming from here, but maybe there's a way to put a human face to the business without making it too obvious that your team varies based on the job. Something like:

"ChargeTeam is led by Evan Beaver, who has a wealth of industry experience and a large number of completed jobs and satisfied clients."

No one thinks you do it on your own, but now they know who's leading the effort.
