@NanoRaptor this is why ur car needs oil because if it doesnt have oil it rounds off the edges of the crankshaft-conrod link

@NanoRaptor obviously a conrod from a gas powered version of the cybertruck.
@simonzerafa It's terrific. and a euro version even!
@NanoRaptor the engineer in me directly goes into analysis of function, material and a plausible manufacturing process, and failure mechanism. It shows that the solution space where this is optimal is very small. The sociologist in me looks with keen interest at the number of replies that show how many people know any of that. The psychologist in me looks at your post and applies theories to you.
@NanoRaptor ah, the venerable pistoff.
Also because it puts me on edge atm — If I'm grumped at by some fucker for posting 'ai slop' or some equivalent, should I:
The mind of this non-engineer is now contemplating a variant which has the small end rotated 90°, so the holes aren't in the same plane. Surely that would lead to some more compact steampunk engines? 🤔
The essence of art is conjuring a form of communication where common language and its smoothed-out culture is bypassed, placing ideas directly in the mind of the observer. Barriers are broken, mental firewalls off, art goes straight to their core.
For example this is now in the minds of engineers.
The counting at my house starts Aug 2015, when the TARDIS door project was completed.
I wonder who's walked in and out of TARDIS doors the most in their lifetime. I figure I'd have to be up there.
Yesterday was ~70 times. I've had them wrapped since late November 2016 by the print file dates.
8.6 years, 52 weeks/year, 4 weeks off/year, 8.6*48*5*70 = on the order of 150,000 times.
in the future you can brick your coffee mug
@itgrrl Here, take this.
An insulated screwdriver is an important piece of safety equipment when working on certain wall plugs.
@itgrrl I have purposely done so on a few :D
@leonerd you’re goddamned right!
I swear “sToP pOsTiNg AI sLoP!!” replies on my posts are the modern day equivalent of “you weren’t on IRC in the 80s cos mIRC didn’t exist until 1995”
@JoannaCanFixIT You might be happy to know I already do mark every AI post I do as AI!
The AppleVision L is widely regarded as the best of Apple's L-displays, and is perhaps just as well known by the arguments following Macworld's 1997 review of it as "unparalleled", after which thousands of Apple critics descended on usenet to post that it was just as parallel as regular displays.
@pentup @NanoRaptor Unfortunately, I think your fair compromise will suffer the same fate as my suggestion to resolve the age-old zero- vs. one-indexing question in programming languages by indexing from 0.5.
@simonzerafa shit maybe that’s the metaphor. Chronic pain and age.
Sold. Retroactively labeling that.
