There were candy beans that give you magic powers. They had names like the chemical symbols on the periodic table. I asked about stacking two kinds of luck power, and about how long the power lasts.

The shopkeeper said that a few different types of beans had become illegal to produce after a farm had been neglected and turned into an ooze monster (its name was a composite of the names for those beans). One of the banned types was one that made other powers permanent.

My family were out travelling and had to pay tribute to a steppe warlord.
We couldn't really talk, but he seemed to respond positively to some salty biscuits we brought.
I theorized that they don't get enough salt in their diet, like maybe we should bring more salty food next time.
Now that I'm awake, I think they probably do get enough.

Have gotten two early birthday presents that were both very good. A kettle with temperature setting, and a small shoulder-bag that can be worn with the strap under my clothes so it won't flop around.

Went to a sewing meet to work on replacing a bad pocket. I've never gone before. Got a lot of good advice, and it was a pleasant sound experience. There were rarely more than two people speaking at a time, and it was a wooden building.

Found a charging wire I've been looking for.

I was looking for a work by the same guy who wrote the Bible. It was carved into a big stone, and the title was "Silmarillion: Diaries of the Dwarves".

We've seen it used for stealth, but also there's an aspect of pride and history to it.
Them: That makes sense, but only if they're a sapient horse. We can't really conclude how smart a horse they're supposed to be yet.

There was a kitchen appliance that looks kinda like an old CD-player. I set it to "honey", which caused a drawer on to open, revealing many different small flowers and a little grass.

I considered changing the setting, but then flying bugs started to arrive, so I let them do their thing.

One of them stung my hand, though.

Also I'm unclear on how the device is supposed to get you honey. Maybe it's just for facilitating honey in general. I guess that's fine, I have honey for years.

One bird is sitting on the fingers. The other lands right next to it, then takes off and lands again, causing the first to shuffle onto the thumb. They eat for a bit, then both fly away at the same time.

The birds are white with brown on the wings and cheeks. The first has a grey back, the second has black stripes down from its eyes. They look around constantly, and make short buzzing beeps any time they fly or touch.

I've been thinking about what different videogames give me/others lately. So yes useful.

I treat a lot of simple games as. A thing to do with the rest of me while listening to podcasts or audiobooks. But I might be missing out.

Have you noticed anything about how your cozy games use language? Voice acting? Long text? Do you actually need to pay attention to it?

Language tends to be bad for how I've used them, but I could see the need to fill that part of the mind too.

Discord has an place on people's profiles to write notes about them for yourself. Just found myself missing that on Mastodon.

I mostly use it there to remind myself who's working on which project. But it could also be useful as a way to remember a good or bad impression of people.

An alternative is. The ability to mark someone's posts so those posts are visible when I view their profile page in the future. Saves me writing.

I went into the guest rooms of an acquaintance family who didn't know I was there.
There were like four guest rooms, on two floors. And a spiral staircase between them.
They all had different wallpaper, but the strongest color was always purple stripes.
One floor was a subway station, with the same purple stripes. It was in a large, crowded room. You could cross the rail and the room, to get to another station in the distance. The sky or ceiling above was too dark to see.

It exists mostly in our collective heads, without being imaginary.
But unlike some things in our heads, it's a consequence of human history rather than a consequence of the evolution of humans?

By saying something is a social construct, you're saying it's not innate to humanity.
If small things turned out differently in the last few hundred years, it could have been very different.
And it will be very different in a few hundred years, from how it is now.
(now to actually look up the term)

I feel like there's multiple ways in which autism can Result in typing better than you speak.

Like, I'm not sure I can Communicate Faster by typing than talking.

But typing gives me more time to order my thoughts
But also, I just have more practice typing English than speaking it.

I like using the same map, saves you making more assets. Maybe you use the same tablet as part of the UI inside.

One important question here is. What do you already know how to do in your engine of choice?

I can think of a couple of different ways someone could do the visuals for atmospheric antarctic travel depending on their skillset.
- text adventure
- the background is photos (need the player to make a trail somehow?)
- tilemap (need some way to make it less obvious)

Makes me wonder about how you would make the adventuring part a game + simple + atmospheric.

Maybe something about map and compass navigation, but you need shelter from the wind to use your map?

And then, sometimes you'll encounter stuff that isn't on the map and need to find your way around. Like maybe the map isn't for winter conditions.

(Somehow simulate how people can't walk in a straight line across long distances?)

Worked for me. The copied text just needed a bit of adjustment because of how line breaks work in PDFs.

When the Taliban seized power in August, their initial statements included assurances that women would be allowed to exercise their rights within Islamic Law, including their right to study and work. However, despite these verbal commitments, women and girls are seeing a rapid reversal of their rights.
