Just a PIP claimant sat on a train waiting to get to work.
Yes, a PIP claimant using their benefits to pay for a train to get to work.
I will also use my money to get a taxi home.
This is because of the pain I am in at the end of the day.
Oh and in case you were wondering… pain killers were one of the first things I thought to have when I woke up… because of chronic pain due to my curved spine.

@tobyleaf I hope so to. We shall see what happens tomorrow.

@tobyleaf reduction in access to work? I hadn’t seen this… it’s ridiculous

Benefits cuts post
Taking away our benefits won’t magically take away our Disabilities. PIP.

2025-03-17

How many f-ing times- PIP is not an out of work benefit. Getting disabled people into work isn’t going to magically take away their disabilities.
Right to try? Sounds so condescending. The transport system isn’t set up for multiple wheelchair users to get to work on more than one service, people don’t offer disabled people seats.
Not all employers see past the disability at interview.
Taking away PIP will only drive more disabled people into poverty.

2025-03-15

Not one word about how they will improve public transportation to help us get to get to work.
Not one word on how they will allow disabled people time off to attend a hospital appointment due to their disability.
Not one word about the extra cost of living for disabled people which is paid for by PIP.

All this will do is encourage disabled people to want to top themselves.

Anyone who has been through the PIP process knows how devastating it is.
It treats us like we’re liars and scroungers.
0.02% of benefit fraud is what’s accounted for with PIP.
We’re been treated like we’re the ones taking all the countries money.
We’re not.
The process for claiming this benefit is not a walk in the park.

2025-02-07

Disabled people are already suffering enough.
0.2% of PIP claimants are committing fraud. 0.2%.

I was just half way over the road, it was green for me, then a van decided they didn’t want to wait and went through. Even previously they had stopped. I clearly had my cane.
This is why I hate going out alone.

Taking the day off because I don’t feel safe going out in this weather. A load of my trains were cancelled.

Being Disabled makes travel harder.

2025-01-23

Bus pass doesn’t work before 9:30. And public transport isn’t always accessible.
Disabled people have extra costs just to be able to live.

2025-01-23

Let’s not stop mentioning the changes to the benefits system.
PIP is a benefit which allows people to be as independent as possible.
It is not an out of work benefit.
It’s pays towards the extra costs disabled people face due to their disability.
For example, if you need a sport masssge to reduce pain because pain killers don’t cut it.
You need to pay for specialist equipment such as a wheelchair or hearing aids.
You need to pay for taxis because you can’t drive and you’re…

2025-01-22

@LaserMistress I fully hear and understand what you’re saying.
Please be kind to yourself. You know your own needs. Do what is right for you and do your best to ignore the negative.

2025-01-21

Please look after yourself and be careful with your surroundings. You don’t want to trip over a persons cane.
We have it because we can’t see. So if we hit you with it it’s because we didn’t know you were there.
Look after yourself and be careful.

2025-01-21

Three people got on the train before me. Ignoring my white cane. One of them got it caught between their legs.
Rather than talking about how it impacted me and could hurt me as a cane user…. Let me tell you how it affects you.
If my cane gets caught in between your feet or legs as you are boarding the train you could trip and fall, you could fall between the train and platform edge. You could break your leg and be in a lot of pain.
Please be careful and look who’s around you.
