On sale on Itch for just 18 more hours, #AModernPrometheus🫀 is a two-player duet TTRPG based on the story of Frankenstein. Create a monster, and shape one another over the course of linked minigames that explore hubris, humanity, and responsibility. https://mqsalmon.itch.io/prometheus
I create from the overflow of my passions. I love the music of Tracy Chapman, the musicality and lyricism, and have 3 CDs in regular rotation in my car. I also love tabletop roleplaying games & the craft of them.
So for #Pocketopia I'm making an old-fashioned fanzine combining these two passions. It's called Fiction in the Space Between & is live now! The title is taken from Tracy's song Telling Stories. The lyrics apply to the power & responsibility of roleplaying games as well, I think.
I take eight songs and engage with them via #TTRPG design. Mountain o' Things becomes a solo game about immeasurable wealth. Open Arms becomes a safety tool.

@adaddinsane I agree! They're both creative, symptoms of the same source, but are different mediums. And stories taken from TTRPG campaigns need heavy editing before they make good novels, in my opinion.
#ScribesAndMakers 3/9. What would your best creative life look like, keeping it realistic?
I used to think it would be working full time as a writer. After working full time as a control systems engineer, I've found my creative pursuits aren't suffering, they're actually fed by what I learn in my day job, and by being given time to think.
I now believe that my best creative life would be a hybrid one. Working 3 or 4 days a week in my current job, or something else different but fulfilling. Having office hours the other days, dedicated time that can spill over and around as I feel driven. I still participate in game jams and crowdfunding carnivals for my TTRPG work, and writing festivals and retreats for my fiction. Plenty of mixing with other creative people and giving myself the impetus to create without sacrificing the business of putting words to page.
A desk with better wifi reception, a more ergonomic chair, better storage and more books would all help as well ahaha.

#PennedPossibilities 603: How would you describe your MC’s handwriting?
Yawan's first introduction to writing is when the Euph arrive. Due to her late start, and the fact that the writing method used is carving into wooden panels (allowing for endless copies), she's very slow and straight-edged.
#WritersCoffeeClub 3/2. How accurately does the first line represent your style and voice?
"The apparition of my dead sister-in-law sat in the corner, her sad, half-lidded eyes watching me even in the gloom. "
Well I do like commas... So that's an accurate introduction to my style and voice!
I'm not wedded to this first line, but I like it. This is probably version three or four, updated because earlier versions didn't really represent the novel's themes.
Last call for Strang Beorn, only 13 hours left on the kickstarter. Blown away by the support for this project, thank you all!

Growing Thylacine, #TTRPG on Kickstarter now for #ZiMo !
2 - 5 players | 5d6 | 30 - 120 minutes
Your last endling ancestor died in Hobart Zoo in 1936. No Thylacine has walked the earth since. But now your growing body lies dreaming in a cloning vat and your existence inflames the public. What are you: Scientific hubris? A new national identity? A second chance? A righting of colonial, historical or ecological wrongs?
You care nothing about that. Slowly your teeth, limbs, stripes and pouch grow. Soon you will escape.

@SymbolicCity I’m a big fan of leaning into the zine format (rather than books!) and am always a one woman show. That said, how do you enforce it? Where do you set the boundaries?
