Came across some puppy snaps...
Wanted to share this one. 😊
I just shared it in my journal Toot on Masto, but wanted to share it on Pixelfed as well. 😇

Enjoy sleeping puppy Arwen in black-and-white.. She was just the cutest! 🥲 I really still miss her so much...

Black-and-white close-up photo taken on 29 September 2013, showing puppy Arwen (born 15 July 2013) fast asleep. The image focuses on her tiny front paws, which are stretched toward the camera and fill most of the foreground. Her soft pads, fine fur, and tiny claws are clearly visible in gentle light, creating an intimate and tender perspective. In the background, out of focus, Arwen’s small head rests sideways on a blanket as she sleeps deeply, her ears floppy and relaxed. The blurred surroundings enhance the peacefulness of the moment, highlighting the innocence and trust of a very young Labrador puppy.

I liked the no crop version more... 😊 It makes the train look even longer... (to me, at least).

Wow! I think my "reading frenzy" in my little bubble 🫧 is giving me some speeds...
In 5 days I read "Angels & Demons", and this is now my progress since last morning, when I started "The DaVinci Code".
I don't know how long the reading will be my "special interest", but the quiet nights, tucked under my blanket, with candles and sometimes the movies soundtracks...
Yeah... At the moment, it's really helping me to relax. 😊

A photo of a Kobo Libre H2O eReader held against a dark background, displaying the Reading Stats screen at 6:34. At the top, small icons show brightness, Wi-Fi, battery status, and a sync symbol. The page highlights The Da Vinci Code (Robert Langdon – 2) by Dan Brown, with the book cover on the left showing a dark, shadowy face and bold white text. Progress bars indicate Book progress: 35% and Current chapter: 0%. Below, three statistics appear in large numbers: 4.8 hours of reading, 12 avg. minutes per session, and 1.1 avg. pages per minute. Further down, under “All items,” a grey circular progress ring shows 1% of your books are finished. To the right are 4 books finished and 65.2 total hours of reading. Along the bottom edge, the navigation bar shows Home, My Books, Discover, and More.

The movies are good, but I think the books are a bit better, as there is so much more info in them. 😊 The Angels & Demons movie came out second, but it was/is actually the first book of the Robert Langdon series. 😊 I did visit the Louvre long ago, but it was before the movie/book. Would not mind going back there some day... 😊

A good book, candles, a good movie, a warm blanket on the couch...
A dimly lit living-room scene shows a TV in the background playing The Da Vinci Code. The scene on screen shows a pale, hooded man in a monk’s robe standing tensely in a softly lit room, with English subtitles visible at the bottom. In the foreground, Cynni holds a Kobo eReader with its warm front-light glowing against the dark. The screen displays two ongoing reads: Angels & Demons by Dan Brown at 88% read, and Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins at 13% read. Below them, the library view shows a row of Dan Brown titles, including The Da Vinci Code, Inferno, Origin, and other works. To the right of the eReader, several softly glowing candles sit in colored glass holders, adding warm and red-orange accents to the scene. A tall can of energy drink stands on a coaster nearby, illuminated only by candlelight.

I have written a blog post for today, about getting back to reading...
I don't have all the paper versions of Dan Brown's books... But maybe I can spot a sale some day to add the last two Robert Langdon books to the shelf...

#Bookstagram #Bookstodon #Books #Collection #DanBrown #Edited
Edited photo of a neatly arranged row of Dan Brown novels on a bookshelf, shown with a dark, slightly distressed vignette frame and a soft, shimmering overlay of rainbow-like light streaks. From left to right, the visible titles are: Deception Point, Digital Fortress, Angels and Demons, The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol (a thick hardcover with a golden spine featuring a keyhole graphic), and Inferno (a tall hardcover with a deep blue spine and a red symbol). The lighting gives the books a warm, nostalgic glow, highlighting the familiar Corgi and Bantam Press logos. The entire scene feels atmospheric and inviting, as if celebrating a personal collection of well-loved thrillers.

@UnclePJ@beige.party well... I did my best! 😇
2025-11-16
Well... It's not 💯 perfect... But I did the best I could... On my own, with my broken body...
I guess it's a lot better than before? I hope... 😇 I hope it will stay in place, as getting the pins in kinda destroyed my hands for today. 😔
Now I need to rob a bank to get me that Labrador statue that I shared earlier this morning. 😉

#PixysHouse
A slightly overcast daytime scene showing the front garden of a modern brick house with number 33. The garden has just been covered with two large green fake-grass mats that lie across the sandy soil and partially over the paving stones. The mats aren’t perfectly aligned yet—the edges lift a little and their seams are visible—but they already create a much cleaner, greener look than the bare ground beneath. Along the left side of the garden, a line of dark green metal posts connected by thin black wire marks the boundary with the sidewalk. Behind the newly placed grass, the neighbour’s garden is filled with dark grey gravel and a small conifer tree. The houses form a neat row, their big windows reflecting the grey sky. Although the work is still in progress and far from perfect, the fresh green mats brighten the space noticeably and suggest a big improvement over how it looked before.A daytime photo shows the front of a red-brick house with the number 33 beside a light grey front door that stands slightly ajar. In front of the house, two newly placed fake-grass mats cover most of the small garden area. The bright green mats lie on top of a sandy base and overlap slightly at the seam; their edges are uneven and still need trimming, but they form a fresh green surface where previously only sand and weeds were visible. A narrow strip of paving stones leads from the sidewalk to the front door, and a green metal boundary fence with thin tensioned wires runs along the edge of the garden. Fallen brown leaves rest on the sand in the foreground. The house façade features two large frosted windows, a white mailbox, and drainpipes on each side. Although the job isn’t finished, the synthetic grass already makes the space look cleaner, more intentional, and noticeably improved compared to before.

Getting closer every day...
"Just" 20 more days and then I hope to hit the next big milestone. 😊
Not all the posts are good, or very interesting 😉, but... I worked hard on them. I spent time and effort, and shared my worst and best moments...
It's been my journey for several years now. And I hope to be able to keep it going for some time. 🍀

My blog is at @cynnisblog.wordpress.com@cynnisblog.wordpress.com (and/or cynnisblog.wordpress.com).

A close-up photo of a laptop screen showing part of the WordPress interface. In the center-left, a large circular badge is displayed with a blue upper half and white lower half. Inside the circle are three upward-pointing arrow icons, symbolizing progress, and the word “STREAK” in bold blue letters beneath them. Below the badge, black text reads: “You’ve posted 1,980 days in a row on Cynni’s Blog! Keep up the good work.” On the right side of the screen, a vertical activity feed shows small circular profile icons and snippets of recent interactions. A highlighted sidebar element notes the 1,980-day streak again. The lighting reveals a slight texture from the laptop display. The notification celebrates the impressive blogging streak, leaving only 20 days to reach the milestone of 2,000 continuous days of posting.

Ooof I see now that this statue is 94 kilos! That's about 3 real Labs 😂. Guess chances of it getting stolen are less then... But I do wonder how I would be able to get it to my garden... 🤔
2025-11-16
https://www.tuindecoratie-jose.nl/product/labrador/ the site says it's €195... But I do like it... 😊 Maybe I can ask for "fake Labrador" birthday money? 😇

The two grass mats that were delivered last Friday. Forgot to share them here...
Yesterday, there was a lot of rain...
Monday, they expect more wind...
So hopefully, I can roll out the mats this morning, find the best placement for them, and pin them down... Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that the weather and my body will allow it.
I can't wait to see how the garden will be with the fake grass covering the biggest patch of root fabric...
I hope to be able to buy a few bins for plants, and some easy to maintain plants, later on, to place in the garden there. And... If I ever find a cool Labrador garden statue thingie, I need to rob a bank, because I'd love one of those next to the front door. 😇

A bright indoor hallway with light wooden flooring and white walls. Against a closed white door stand two tall, rolled-up fake grass mats, each wrapped tightly in clear plastic. The rolls are upright, slightly leaning against the door, and reach almost to the top—about 2 meters high, with their labels indicating they are 3 meters long when unrolled. The artificial grass inside is a rich green, visible through the transparent wrapping. To the right of the door hangs a small decorative sign reading “Free Dobby” with a silhouette of the beloved house-elf. The hallway feels clean and organized, with the grass mats waiting patiently to be installed in the front garden once both the weather and my health make it possible.

Totally forgot to share.... 🫣 But two days ago, I finally finished the puzzle! 😁
I ordered the special glue and then I'll need to buy a frame... Yay! After it's been glued I will be able to start a new one... 😇

#Puzzle #Dumbo #Disney
A completed 1000-piece Ravensburger Disney puzzle lies neatly on a black surface, showing the heartwarming scene of Dumbo, the adorable grey baby elephant with big blue eyes and oversized ears, sitting in a wooden washtub filled with bubbles and water. He looks delighted, his trunk playfully curved as foam spills over the edges of the tub. Next to him sits Timothy Q. Mouse, dressed in his red circus uniform and tiny hat, smiling proudly. Behind them, soft, dreamy carnival lights glow in the background, with metallic pots and whimsical fairground details creating a magical atmosphere. The puzzle box stands behind the finished puzzle on a wooden surface, showing the same image on its cover, confirming that every piece has found its place. In the background are some neatly stacked envelopes, a lamp, and other small items, but the focus is on the sense of accomplishment — the puzzle is finally complete after weeks of work.

Another edit I made for an upcoming blog post. The original snap was taken on 23/12/2024.
Arwen just had the cutest smile and the most gentle eyes... I miss her so much...

A sepia-toned, gently blurred photograph of Arwen, your beloved chocolate Labrador, taken in December 2024. She is lying on a wooden floor indoors, her body stretched slightly to the left while she faces the camera directly. Arwen’s expression is warm and full of affection—her mouth is open in a relaxed, happy smile, showing her soft teeth, and her eyes catch the light with a gentle shine. Her ears sit loosely at the sides of her head, giving her that tender, familiar look you loved so much. The background shows softly out-of-focus shelves and pieces of furniture, creating a cozy home atmosphere. A thin black film-strip style border frames the entire image, adding a nostalgic, captured-moment feel. The focus is entirely on Arwen’s calm, joyful presence—her sweetest smile preserved in a timeless, heartfelt snapshot.

Some more English books from my little collection.
My Dean Koontz books, and three Tess Gerritsen books.

#Bookstagram #Bookstodon #Books #Collection #DeanKoontz #TessGerritsen
A white bookshelf holds a compact but eye-catching collection of Dean Koontz novels, arranged in a clean row from left to right. The first book stands out with its bright yellow-and-orange striped spine: Intensity. Next are several uniform white-spined Harper editions with bold black lettering and small silhouette illustrations: Velocity, The Taking, The Face, The Husband, Brother Odd, The Good Guy, and Odd Hours. Following these are two darker-toned hardcovers: The Darkest Evening of the Year with deep blue title text, and Relentless with its striking red lettering. On the far right sit three Tess Gerritsen thrillers—The Surgeon, The Apprentice, and The Sinner—included at the edge of the shelf but visually distinct. The overall impression is a tidy, well-loved thriller collection with consistent design aesthetics across many of the Koontz titles.

Some of my Dutch children's books. I don't have many Dutch books, but these are a few I have had for a while now...

#Bookstagram #Bookstodon #Books #Collection #DutchBooks
A white bookshelf holds a colourful selection of Dutch children’s books, neatly arranged from left to right. On the left stands a complete row of Paul van Loon’s De Griezelbus series (books 1 through 6), each with a different coloured spine—black, red, purple, blue, green, and light blue—decorated with spooky illustrations at the top and matching GC Bieb labels at the bottom. Next to them is another Paul van Loon title, Lang leve de Leeuwenkuil, with a bright white-blue spine. Leaning beside it are two slender, well-loved hardcovers: Annie M.G. Schmidt’s Een visje bij de thee and Roald Dahl’s Dutch edition of Sjakie en de Chocoladefabriek, its spine showing signs of age. Further right stand three classic children’s favourites: Dahl’s Matilda, visibly worn from reading; Jip en Janneke with its iconic illustrations; and an older cream-coloured hardcover. The books create a nostalgic, beloved collection from Dutch childhood literature.

Made some more progress yesterday. Need to do most of the water bits now... Hopefully that wont frustrate me too much. 🫣

Today I'll be gone for my taxes. And I'll have to take the litle Weener with me, as he's staying the night. 😊 So don't know if I can puzzle a lot...

#Puzzle #Dumbo #Disney
A nearly completed 1000-piece Disney jigsaw puzzle lies on a black surface, showing a vibrant illustration of baby Dumbo with his huge ears, sitting in a round wooden bathtub filled with water and bubbles. His bright blue eyes look down joyfully as he splashes with his trunk, while Timothy Q. Mouse in his red ringmaster uniform stands beside the tub, smiling up at him. The upper half of the puzzle is fully assembled, displaying colourful circus scenery, glowing lights, and a whimsical filmstrip border sparkling with stars. The lower central part of the puzzle is still incomplete, leaving an irregular black gap where the remaining pieces will go. Loose pieces are scattered around: some arranged on a printed puzzle-shaped sheet on the left, others inside an open box on the right. The puzzle’s lid featuring the same artwork stands in the background, behind other items on the table. The puzzle is slowly coming together—piece by piece.
