Alright, I've been given the go-ahead to turn one of the extra bedrooms into a turning room. What mini/midi lathe should I be looking at?
Still going to keep the shopSmith power pro downstairs for bigger items...

When you hate cleaning up the shop...
I was measuring and the tape measure tapped the blade before it stopped. Mine has been beyond top notch. Love it. Just need a new blade now.
So I did a thing, but not sure I should brag about it.... #sawstop
@jamigibbs
I think it's a combination of it's softness and (at least now) a bit of fashionable wood snobbery that only white oak, walnut, or curly maple get shown on the Yalltubes.
I made several drawer dividers out of it and they have all lasted the last decade no problem.
I'm so dumb I did it twice!
I have scars from 2 similar incidents, one almost perfectly matching. Stitches both times.
So I think the motor makes it look a little like Darth Vader, so I guess that makes my shop Mustafar...right? #woodworking #newtool #newtoyjoy
@jamigibbs I don't have any rosewood, but I do have some purpleheart if you want it to really pop
So today I did a thing. With my wallet. I've been using mine a lot more lately and the price on this upgrade couldn't be beat. #shopsmith #powerpro
First bit of #Woodpeckers equipment. Dead accurate out of the box. No slop.
@jamigibbs @RobotLeBlanc
Very intrigued by the Hovarter, both on price and quicker movement
@Spark
I wanted something less internet-centric for a hobby and relaxing
@thewoodknight If you really want a mob with pitchforks, say anything - and I do mean ANYTHING - negative about Diresta. Like, after watching his 42nd video about wood/metal lighted signs, don't ever mention that he makes a lot of them and they are all the same.
@splicer
I don't know. This one doesn't look dead when you charge it.
It was a birthday gift for my wife's coworker. Here it is next to his actual guitar.
Sapwood can be an excellent contrast! I used it in a cutting board because I liked how it accentuated the neck.
@m750 My best piece of advice is to remember that turning the switch off doesn't make it safe. Depending on the saw there can be a considerable spin-down time. As me how I know that one.
You also need to take your time inspecting all parts of it if it was given to you used. You don't know what has been to/with that machine before it landed in your shop.
@tapirgirl
That is nothing short of stunning.
@jamigibbs
I used 8/4 walnut as the front fence on my crosscut sled
