Bill

I break web applications. Front man for the cover band Thundersnow.

@cR0w Gotta check across the street, just way that his van is up on a jack in the driveway with a wheel off. Gonna see if he needs a hand later.

You know, I got one of those electric fleese jacket thingies for Christmas and thought I'd never use it because I run so warm anyway. Guess what...

@stinerman THat's just not right.

@horse Camera adds a few inches.

@neurovagrant Might be 0 here by noon. Probably not.

@fbarton In Maine. It's less cold in Maine than it is in Columbus.

That's just not right, man. Just. Not. Right.

@nuintari Like I told @coreysnipes, ouch.

Not wrong but ouch.

Yup, the house finally gave up and the emergency heat turned on. Can't keep the fires hot enough all night without getting up every two hours, and that's a nope. Got them all rolling now tho.

@fennix That works.

In November, I submitted a thing to MSRC thinking I found a new AD CS CVE. I was SO hyped.

NArrator: he had not found a new CVE.

Turns out I conflated some PKI role definitions and misunderstood security boundaries. I'm supposedly an "expert" in this stuff. 🤦

BUT! The underlying behavior IS still interesting. "Dangling templates" happen when you delete a cert template without disabling it first, and they can lead to unexpected template enablement.

My new blog explains the whole thing: jakehildreth.github.io/blog/20

@lukadotnet @RonJeffries Excellent analysis.

Yeah, it's eighteen degrees below zero (in Freedom units) in the valley here. That's as cold as it has ever been since I've lived here.

Can I even make the freedom units joke any more? I'm thinking not.

@jwarlander

"How's the weather, Bill"

"I'd tell you but all the fancy electronics I have to report that to me are frozen solid."

Won't lie. Bout done with this. #cold

Low temp warning from my alarm system.

@RonJeffries I'm.sure he asked Claude and it told him that it was an industry changing idea.

You can also watch this video from EFF’s Dave Maass on How to Observe Police Surveillance at Protests: youtube.com/watch?v=oGscYgR7bXc. Let us know what you see out there by emailing info@eff.org with "Protest Surveillance" in the subject!

Oh, awesome, Discount Schacht is making federal appsec decisions now. That'll turn out well, I'm certain!!!

@da_667 You are in a mood.

I was shocked when my wife ran into this giant recall of 2000 items, some of which we use! And she was reading it to me I'm thinking "wow I haven't seen one of those kind of recalls in a long time this place must have been a mess."

fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-

Reads like a nightmare, we started considering what we should start checking and then we looked a little further down the page.

Oh, look at that, just a few retailers. Check that list huh? Oh, look at that, most of them are in Minneapolis and are ethnic.

Really? Could those fuckers stoop THAT LOW?
