@jamiekocur

Yes, editing, rewriting, is necessary. But don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure not everything you write is terrible.

@jamiekocur
YES YES YES--you are exactly right! While working on my novel I never did it when I didn't feel it--and I am so pleased with the result! For some, writing is their bread and butter, and they must write whether they want to or not. But if you do not need immediate financial support from your work, the way you describe will, IMO, bring the best result.

First day here and have responded to a couple of #FollowFriday posts--thought I'd put up one of my own. I'm a #writer who usually writes short stories but who just finished her first novel (OMG!) I have it out with my gracious beta readers at present. Love anything #character-driven. I am also a #quilter and #beader. I love to #cook. I live in the wonderful #South, grew up in the #Midwest, and spend my summers in #Canada, #PEI. I respect others' political opinions but am a staunch #Democrat.

@jamiefeldman followed you because I'm a writer, I used to be a theater person, of course I'm awesome, (duh!) but was really excited when I saw the Canadian and Irish flags in your profile --I am editing my first novel which takes place in Ireland and Maritime Canada! Are you from either or do you simply like them?

@ellenmorrisprewitt first day here and so glad to see someone from the Gulf Coast. I also love Memphis --attended law school at Ole Miss, so went there a lot for BBQ "back in the day." Looking forward to reading your posts.
