maybe my next Bad Keyboard should be a cushioned plushy with a motion sensor in it. you drop it from different heights to get different letters
@ratsprite OHH! Oh I see, right, been awhile, I forgot that obviously you'd customize them with dyes to be whatever colors you want.
This is really cool of ArenaNet to do for Pride. The wings are pretty easy to customize too if you have a specific flag in mind, but it is 4 dye channels so you'll have to decide how you'll manage them. I personally prefer the cute little bat wings, but these are great and FREE.
Here's a fun thing on ebay: a Pentium III-terminator!
This is for dual-socket boards, if you're only using one socket you put this in the other one.
So Nintendo apparently noticed that everyone was picking Random on Mario Kart World online rooms in order to avoid the intermissions and decided to... make the random option play an intermission as well.
I can't help but feel like they did this out of spite for people not wanting to play the game the way they intended. Nintendo would have certainly seen all the feedback requesting 3-lap races, so for them to remove the only workaround really seems backwards.

@xyla IT DOES
IT'S SO GOOD

@xyla (this could have been a 38k midi file, but apparently I can't embed those so here's a 5.5mb mp3)

"Our robots.txt file clearly explained what would happen if it was ignored and that by ignoring it you agreed to waive your right to any and all claims against us."
@BestGirlGrace So what you need is a time machine so you can go to the 90's and yell at stupid people about Doom.
Dear cis friends: please stop telling us that hard times will only make us stronger?
We're already required to be strong, just to overcome the barriers you allow to be in our way to just living as ourselves. And if you're not fighting against it, then yeah, you're pretty much for it. It's not a place there is a moral middle position. Either we get to live, or we don't. I feel confident in saying that when history looks back on us, they will not say "woo, those centrists really helped trans people to stay alive!"
We already have to be brave, because people who are quite like you make our lives difficult and sometimes terrifying.
We are already resilient, and you can tell, because *we're still standing*. Resilience is our necessary state to live in your world.
We don't need your help being any of those things.
We need your help making it so we *don't* have to be those things. So we can be ordinary people who get to be sad and angry and happy and just live our lives in peace.
So please...if you're moved to honour a trans person's bravery, strength, or resilience in living our truth, consider for a moment what you are acknowledging in saying those things. You're saying "I know it's bad for you, and here's my advice on how to endure."
I want you to say, "It's bad for you? HOLY SHIT I HAD NO IDEA! GET ME A DAMN SIGN, STAT! WE MARCH AT DAWN!"
The big question I get when teaching people about being trans is "what can I do to be a good ally?"
I always say the same thing. DO something. Speak up. Call your representative. Organise. Protest. Say things when you hear people deride us. Call out bigotry when you hear it.
There's a hundred things you can do. Start by always remembering that being an ally is a verbal phrase. It focuses on the verb. "BEING". Not "having been". Not "once showed it". BEING. EXISTING. as an ally.
When it's part of your existence, then I'll call you ally.
Billionaires are threatening to leave New York if their tax rates go up.
Everyone else in New York:
"But they'll take the jobs with them"
A) No they won't. It's expensive as shit to uproot your entire operation, rehire, retrain, and reorganize entire production lines from the ground up, not to mention a gigantic pain in the ass.
B) Even if they do, that will leave a hole in the economy which can be filled by small business and entrepreneurs.
C) Even if it doesn't, trickle down economics is a filthy lie sold to you to keep you complacent. You can do better than a below minimum wage gig economy sidehustle. Demand better from employers.
"We can't tax rich people because they might leave instead of paying higher taxes"
Bro they're not paying taxes NOW, so what the fuck's the difference?
Tax the rich. They'll either pay their fair share in tax, or they'll leave and stop being a drain on the system. Both options are a win.
@davidrevoy @creativecommons Bad creative commons, bad! 🗞️
Everyone: You can send them feedback here: https://github.com/creativecommons/cc-signals/discussions
creative commons: Why are you arguing that allowing AI companies to scrape everything, burn rainforests, pollute the world, and pollute the internet with AI slop is a common good?! Have you LOST YOUR MINDS?
Dear @creativecommons ,
I read your article about your initiative for new licenses for dataset holders in the AI industry.
Let’s be clear: I do not want to re-license my hundreds of CC-By comic pages to please AI giants.
I wish you would support CC artists suffering from massive plagiarism. You should enforce your own existing licenses against AI mass crawling. It seems you’ve joined the battle only after the casualties and still managed to side with the wrong people.
