Boardgames + Shadowrun!

Via reddit I found Clepsydris which solved this issue more conveniently - it creates a qr-code that you can share with the other player(s) - cool! It also has BGG integreation, stats etc. and overall has been working really well for us. clepsydris.app/ #boardgames

The Boy and I wanted to track our board game plays - I had been using BGstats which works well - BGG integration, nice stats and gui. However, we learned that it's not intended by BGG to be able to track a game with another BGG user in it and have it show up in their plays too to prevent spamming. Bummer.
BGstat allowed syncing games by allowing to export a game to a file that you could send to that friend to import. Not super convenient. #boardgames

Ah, the pleasure of turning a game around and winning unexpectedly. Yay! Boy doesn't know what hit him ;)
We tried 7 Wonders Duel Agora for the first time which has great additions, but makes the game significantly meaner. #boardgames

Finished game of 7 Wonders duel with Agora expansion. Board shows that I managed a military victory!

Just one was also easy to play remotely, the guessing player just had to look away/close their eyes while the others wrote their stuff down and then compared their answers. Extra comfortable if you have erasable pens and a surface to write on so you can write with big, easy to read letters without wasting a lot of paper! #Boardgames #remoteboardgames

We just played #Codenames online with some friends - worked really well - you have a shared session, you only need to share the link. It's available in multiple languages too!

Days of wonders released their Roll & Write #boardgame "Corinth" as a free version to print at home - we just tried and it's a fun little game!
You do need 12 dice but I think most of us will have those :)

@kensanata We actually have nine! But only 6 would merge into one. It was one of our first "serious" board games and we played it so much! Only occasionally now but I still enjoy it a lot actually, feels like home ;) Last expansion we bought was guilds, but they are still putting out more!

We are running out of space in our board game shelf so I have condensed 6 boxes of dominion into one.
Bless the people who wrote a script to automatically make these tabs, even comes in German too! sandflea.org/

Still have 3 boxes to merge and some rearranging to do, but I've wanted to do this for a while now and it took less time then I feared it would.

The Base Dominion box without the plastic insert, foam core inserts to make 3 columns. Every column houses dominion cards from different expansions, separated by printed dividers with alternating tab location

We played Whitehall today - a spontaneous buy from #Spiel19 - when we saw it my fiancé remembered a shut up and sit down episode about it and that it was good - price was only 15€ so we took it home with us. It's like a modernized Scotland Yard and it's awesome! We had a lot of fun chasing the murderer (fiancé) looking for clues etc. There were quite a few moments that were incredibly close and thrilling for both parties. Can recommend!

Table with board game on top, a sepia colored map of london, some figurines on top

Long and exhausting day in Essen at #spiel19 - we took some new games home and some more onto our wishlist!
We got Wingspan with the European expansion, Just One, Team 3, Whitehall mystery and Konja was an extra in the wingspan bundle.

The listed games placed on a table

What a fun round of #Wingspan! I ended up having a goal card that gave me points if a bird had a body part in it's name and another one when there was either a plant or an animal (except birds) in it's name, so when there were birds like the brown-headed cowbird which has both "head" AND "cow", I just HAD to have it.
I ended up winning, but this was a fun twist regardless ;) #boardgame

First play for "Wingspan" yesterday! It's so pretty and you can tell how much effort and work went into this.
I expected it to be pretty complex but turns out, the mechanics are all well thought out and everything just kind of falls into place - really well done game!

Hanabi is such a great game

Feels reeeeally good though, if you do manage to combine the powers & skills of all players after like 20 minutes of discussions and going back and forth!
I see how that can be really satisfying. And I really do like intense co-op games. Reminded me of some Pandemic play throughs were we thought we'd lost but kept on thinking and bouncing off ideas until someone finally came up with something that actually works and saves us all - oh the pure joy!

Played #spiritisland for the first time today. We weren't mentally prepared for it though. Boy, it's difficult. Don't try to play it for the first time when you're tired, like we did.
There are so many different options and combinations and you really have to think hard and have long discussions to find the best combinations of skill cards to play. Love the theme, it's co-op and you play spirits trying to protect and island and its native population from colonizers. It's pretty too! #boardgames

My brother visited and as a geographer and #citiesskylines player - he loves Suburbia! And we do too.
My Boyfriend managed to work himself down into debt so he couldn't really do anything the last 3-4 rounds - that never happened before. In the end, I won and for the first time, landed perfectly at the end of the score board.

End of a Suburbia Game. 3 suburban districts have been build from tiles representing commercial, public, industrial and residential buildings. You score points by buying good tiles that give you bonuses and work well with your other tiles.

We did it! We completed a full game!
It only took us 7:45h :thinkergunsunglasses:

Through the Ages was enjoyable, but since the dynamics don't change a lot through the game, it should be a whole lot shorter. We accomplished this one play through and that was enough for everyone involved ;)
Lots of reviews said that once you're behind, it's almost impossible to catch up and we have to agree with that. I won and the last 2-3h, it was pretty clear I would and there was not much they could do.

Through the ages... Long term hit on boarsgamegeek... My friend had this for almost 10 years, played twice, never finished - always ran out of time.
We started Saturday at 12 - not our usual time ;) With us having to learn the rules, eat some waffles (yum) and a friend having to leave at 5:30 pm - we only managed like a third of the game....
Uff. So long.
It's not SUPER complicated, and it was fun so far, but it'll surely not be a fav for me. We will try again next week though! #boardgames

Old German Version of Through the ages boardgame, lots of cubes and cards

Update: Definitely better with more than two people ;)
Enjoyed the game a lot!
The Boyfriend was Long John Silver this time and he had so much fun being smug. And us other players getting more desperate and angrier :D The more cussing from us, the better, hehe.

First game of Treasure Island - only two players to test it out. As suspected, it's not really a two player game. As a Pirate, seeing how other players react to clues and deduce from that is more fun. As Long John Silver who hid the treasure (me) you can bluff twice and the Boyfriend had little chance to figure out what was true and what wasn't. He ended up finding it in the end but the process was a bit frustrating for him. Looking forward to playing it with more players though!

Game board with lots of drawings on top, the Boy found it in an area that was crossed out because I lied to him (gasp)
