Howās that for random?

Back on the river. First SUP since Tahoe - quite a different scene, but the vibes are still good š¤š½ š

This tweet comes unironically from the GOP, which loves giant defense budgets, wants to regulate women's bodies, wishes to tell schools what they can teach, desires a 1900-mile-long border wall, wants to increase the size of police forces, thinks the government should prevent drag story hours, is trying to track young women's periods, thinks social media companies need more regulation, is banning books from libraries, and is trying to tell doctors what prescriptions they can & can't write.
Honestly, posting is helping me stick with this challenge, so I'm staying with it.
For day 10/100 (yeah!) of #the100dayproject, I wrote 1051 words, when I felt like writing ZERO. It's the small wins...
519 words for Day 9/100 of #the100dayproject, in which one of my characters attempts to tell his life story in 3 minutes (that's about 450 words).
@Karen5Lund Oh thatās a great idea (2nd account). Hadnāt thought of that. Thx!
@tsubtext I started playing a couple of months ago. Itās a nice way to wind down at the end of the day. It also provides a little laugh sometimes; like, so many neckties randomly thrown around every scene š
Thinking of moving my account over to a different server. Does it really make a difference though?
Oops ā I posted that yesterday was day 6, but it was day 7, making this day 8/100 of #The100DayProject, and 300 words written. Yay!
But still, I write. Not a lot ā I finally got word that a project I pitched was accepted (I feared it wouldnāt be, which is why I decided to spend 100 days on this novel). But the schedule is tight!
Iām still committed to finishing this novel, even if it is one sentence at a time.
For now, theyāre still in that booth. š

Being Nazi-adjacent means youāre a Nazi. You donāt get to pal around with them then act innocent.
@dbsalk Secret shopper report?? Ooh, I didnāt know they did that there.
Luckily my sonās already gotten a guest compliment, which he was excited about. And he was able to talk to HR (yeah, he did that, and even I was like āugh are you sure you want to take it that far?ā) and they are making sure he isnāt positioned in physical proximity as the CM with the offending behavior.
Do you look back fondly at your experience?
@dbsalk Itās really like this strange ābubble-inside-the-bubbleā isnāt it? My kiddo is super into āmaintaining the magicā and is having to learn to work with people who arenāt.
Example: while we (guests, on stage) chatted with an attractions CM, he insisted on maintaining the narrative of āfriends ofā characters (we appreciated it). Then he shared his āI got my CM ex-gf pregnant so I canāt work in the same land as herā story.
We were like āHuh. Thatāsā¦magical?ā
Stuff like that, but worse š³
A much more productive Day 6/100 for #The100DayProject with 900 words written. The scene takes place in a diner, my two protagonists sitting across from each other in a booth like this, plotting their next time-travel move. (And maybe falling in love?)

Day 6/100 of #The100DayProject was spent editing. I know I should wait until I am ādoneā with a complete first draft, but my brain was having a hard time focusing (I just received word that a work proposal was accepted and I am quite excited). So something was better than nothing.
Just an accountability post today. (And a picture of a bouquet of flowers I found tossed against a wall on my morning wall. I bet thereās a story thereā¦hopefully not too tragic).
When my youngest got into the Disney college program, we kept reading stories about CPs quitting early (āself-termingā in the mouseās parlance). We didnāt get it.
A month in andā¦I think Iām starting to get it.
(And no, itās not the insane schedule.)
Heās still excited about Disney parks butā¦getting a crash course in, well, letās just say many of the things for which compliance training exists š. (Not safety related, thank goodness.)
The WDW Princess Half Marathon took place today. I didnāt run it; rather, I was home procrastinating writing and doom scrolling (as usual).
So for day 5/100 I managed to write 300 words. And Iām sharing my ājumpā picture from the time I did run this race back in 2017 (feels like forever ago)!
A politician using state power to try to control what is taught in higher education - what would you say if you saw it in another country? https://twitter.com/jdmortenson/status/1628984073128448002?s=20
1100 words written for day 4/100 of #The100DayProject after many hours of procrastinating.
I am using this question, from āThe Book of Questionsā in a conversation between my two main characters. I think itās such an interesting way to learn about someone; both what they want to know, and in what direction (past or future, inward or outward) they are most curious š.
