I have too many hobbies, not enough time, a job in that sometimes eats my brain, a brain that is weirdly wired.
I enjoy my partner and my dog. And maybe one or two other people.

Today's PR : Yoke cary over 100ft at 310lbs (140kg)
I also manage to lap 5he 180lbs atlas stone twice, not too far from lifting it!!

That's it. I've done it : 205lbs 13" deadlift.
So I officially need a new goal for this year and it'll be 315lbs.

Giving my a little block to see how the shoulders fit before working on the sleeves and the collar/front band. I made the body longer than the pattern calls for because I wanted a big cardi!

Earlier this week, I worked on my rack pulls and I can now manage them at 165lbs with straps. I think I'll have to change my dead lift goal for this year from 200lbs to maybe 250 or 280. I have whole new appreciation for my body since I started strongman training. It's a great thing.

training day!
I did farmer walks with a 110lbs in each hand over 100ft, twice! And then I miraculously managed to pass the 150lbs over the 48" bar, twice in 3 attempts. I barely got it in my lap last week. So proud!

@bomkatt @___friday That doesn't happened to me often but it is such a weird feeling that brought me a lot of cognitive dissonance after years of being belittled professionally by incompetent guys. Cue : imposter syndrom

Sometimes I wish I could be a white guy, because you can be mediocre with a shit attitude and still have authority and given more credit in area you are incomoerent when given fact by professional and specialist.

Quoting any section of @mia’s incredible essay feels like I’m doing it a disservice; I’ve read it several times, and I expect I’ll read it at least a few more.

With all that said, this is the section that I’m thinking about right now.

miriamsuzanne.com/2025/02/12/t

Screenshot of an excerpt from Miriam Suzanne’s blog post, which reads:

“I don’t know how to attend conferences full of gushing talks about the tools that were designed to negate me. That feels so absurd to say. I don’t have any interest in trying to reverse-engineer use-cases for it, or improve the flaws to make it “better”, or help sell it by bending it to new uses.

“When eugenics-obsessed billionaires try to sell me a new toy, I don’t ask how many keystrokes it will save me at work. It’s impossible for me to discuss the utility of a thing when I fundamentally disagree with the purpose of it.

“I don’t care how well their ‘AI’ works – or if you found a fancy fun use-case. It fucks me up watching peers treat this tech from people who want to eradicate me as a future worth considering. I don’t want any of this.”

Honestly amazed at how much more user friendly it is nowadays too, compared to my last experiences.
Kicking out all AI related stuff forced on us through operating system is like going on a holiday. I use them I want to, not because I have to and that's how it should be.

That was a long week, but I also did a bunch of switches in my IT life. Switching to Graphene OS has been awesome. Switching from OneDrive to pCloud too. My personal laptop is now back on Fedora (after I didn't used a Linux distro for over 10 years!)

@bomkatt I've been wearing that one pair of pyjama short in continuous cycle of wash-wear for probably a year. Mostly because I haven't yet found the energy to sew another pair.

They really are damn confortable.

Deload week for me, and it feels almost lazy to do sets of 3 reps even if these reps are RPE8-9 (and thus I have strict press 60lbs)

My now has pockets! I'm almost done with the body and I really love how clever the construction of this cardigan is : no seams anywhere.

Seen from my point of view, a dark yellow cardigan being knit is draped on my lap. My left hand is in one of the pockets to show its depth. From my point of view, a full view of the body of a dark yellow cardigan being knit draped on my lap. It features cables and pockets on the front. The sleeves are still missing.

Did I spent most my Sunday degoogling my phone. Yes I have. I switched to . Still annoying how much we rely on some of their apps for the day to day because they are easy to use.

This week has been so brutal that even training has been draining. But, today I have managed the yoke at 290lbs over 50ft, then 3 sets with 110lbs atlas stone : 3 reps, and the two other a 2 reps. So I'll take it.

I'm getting closer to having the guinea pig pattern done. Today I took the photos, and I have to share one. Look at his sweet chonky face!

@FanCityKnits a.gup.pe/u/fiberarts I too have kept the knitted and woven object I made for my mother in law who passed away. They are not my colors for the most part, but I thought of using some remnants of the yarn I still have to make swatches and test using dyes to adjust it to something more wearable for me so they can get more regular use.

@bomkatt @___friday They are! I mostly use the sandbag bear hug squats to practice the movements for the atlas stones (hence the lighter weight) but I foresee some sandbag to shoulder in my future, I used to do some in the past and it's a lot of fun and good cardio too

According to a senior CDC official, some of the pages that were removed on Friday have been reinstated due to backlash from the scientific community and the public. Keep speaking up, it matters!
