Ever since I got a M1 machine, I was a Parallels user to work with linux on it. I also have a Huawei MateBook that I installed #Kubuntu on. It worked like a breeze. And today, I uninstalled Parallels from the Mac.

Since last night my 2020 Windows machine dual boots to #Kubuntu. I still am a Mac user mainly, but Kubuntu gave new life to my secondary machine. And returning to KDE after version 1 I can see the pleasing difference in aesthetics

On LI in my timeline frequently appear posts about "papers you MUST read". Many times "The part-time parliament" is in these lists. This is a red flag for me. I am very willing to bet that whoever listed the paper, has never read it. And that they just rehash lists made by others.

There was a reason why #Paxos (the algorithm in the paper) did not take off immediately. The paper was largely ignored the first few years because it could not be understood.
