I would like to be Chrisjen Avasarala: impeccably-dressed, running things, swearing like a sailor.
But I am Camina Drummer: barely keeping it together, sort of in charge, with a lot of complicated relationships and a strong eyeliner game.

Victoria has a ‘Scream-Like-A-Gull Contest,’ and this #CHEKnews clip of local bird-watchers giving it their all is the funniest thing I’ve watched in a long time: ‘Screaming like a gull is going to be the thing to do, and the place to be.’

Do you think you could never be #polyamorous? Or are your attitudes about relationships caught up in Patriarchal conditioning?
Polyamory isn't necessarily about dating multiple people. It's about deconstructing our preconceptions about relationships and learning to rebuild them free from the harmful preconceptions of ownership and mastery over our partners.
35 years ago, the colonial state laid siege to the Mohawk community of Kanehsatà:ke. Tanks, guns, and lies were deployed against land defenders holding sacred ground. That summer became a spark — not just for Indigenous resistance here, but for every struggle against settler colonialism.
This is the first in a series of drops marking that anniversary.
Narrated by my homie Clifton Ariwakehte Nicholas, who was there, behind the lines, holding it down. In this one, he breaks down the story of the Warrior Flag — how it went from the Pines to Standing Rock, to Palestine, to anywhere people rise up for their land and dignity.
The Siege of Kanehsatà:ke wasn’t the end.
It was the warning.

> The provisions give political parties virtually unlimited power to collect, use and disclose personal information with no ability for privacy commissioners to address violations. The bill drops earlier proposed requirements to disclose security breaches and restrict selling Canadians’ information and it blocks the application of provincial privacy laws
Excuse me what the fuck?
Kyriarchy does an astounding amount of work to train us to imagine the ultimate outcome of "liberation" as an extreme state of "freedom from each other."
This is, of course, just a manifestation of the lie of individualism.
In actuality, liberation isn't a someday-event in the mists of the future. It is a way of being. It can be experienced and created, in small amounts, without needing to wait for the all-encompassing version. And we can have it, right here and now.
Because the point is freedom with each other.
How we relate - to ourselves, to those we interact with, to all of reality - is a fundamental ingredient of liberation. One we can reach for literally any time.
And yes, it's true that the work isn't done until everyone is free. But that's no reason to not live as freely as we can. In fact, doing so is a vital part of how we get from here to there.
Today is the International Day of Solidarity with Long-Term Anarchist Prisoners and we're donating net proceeds from every sale. So treat yourself to a book and show some love for imprisoned freedom fighters! https://firestorm.coop/catalog/bestsellers.html

Building on the great work of Suite Numerique (https://docs.numerique.gouv.fr/home/), we are offering an opportunity to be part of a new collaborative Docs platform as a service, that provides an ethical alternative to Google Docs, Office 365, Notion etc.
Docs is the result of a joint effort lead by the French 🥖 (DINUM) and German 🥨 (ZenDiS) governments which represents a paradigm shift in the way open source software is funded.
Picard management tip: If you only play to your strengths you may look competent but ultimately you will stagnate. Play to your weaknesses as well. Improve with practice. There is so much more to learn.

Everyone's security plans and situations will always be different. But the first step to a better online world is looking at your community and figuring out what's needed and how to get everyone else on board. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/02/building-community-privacy-plan
"We can handle one 10,000-person protest, but ten 1000-person protests throughout the city will overwhelm us."

Decentralization is key. Don't let anyone tell you our movements need to be under centralized leadership or control.
Elon Musk personally banned our Twitter account in 2022, but this post from 2020 remains good advice today.
