Hey folks, been absent for a while. It's good tho, I'm living life and have a lot of high-quality things going on.

But want to offer that if you build one of these handheld projectors this summer I will assist you (it is my tutorial after all).

The hardest parts are getting the correct type of flashlight, sourcing the lens and cutting a stencil.

Lasercut stencils are best, and if you build one of these I'll mail you a few (within reason).

And indeed, all the raindrops are strung together in one long strip with the help of some of our new adapter boards, powered by a small USB battery bank, and running off of a Pixelblaze. The cloud soldering kits are chained together with Coin Cell Power boards, have self-blinking LEDs, and are running off of two rechargeable batteries (two for wiring ease).

Our “It’s Raining Coin Cells” LED art display for @crowdsupply #Teardown2025 is coming along! We wanted it to be instructional too so we’ve left connections and some wiring visible and will have signs with more info on how it was constructed. Plus maybe some freebies to grab!

I'm on the hunt for some Circuit Playground Express boards for a companion bot camp for tweens I'm teaching in July and the usual distributors are out of stock. Does anyone know a place that has them in stock or would be willing to donate some to our library makerspace? I'd hate to cancel it if we can't get the hardware in time. I've been hoping for places to restock and am subscribed to notifications but I know the industry is in a tough spot right now with tariffs and supply chain uncertainty.
