Points for using potting compound on this VSR and also points for making it the soft "re-enterable" potting compound.

Minus points for pouring it over the bloody electrical connector terminals 🤦‍♂️

Luckily the soft jelly is easy to scrape off, but if you don't I don't think it will cope too well with the 140A it says on the other side.

A VSR (Voltage Sensitive Relay) with the back open. A small black negative wire exits a PCB which has two large threaded terminals on it. One is undone, the nut laying on the PCB which is cast in jelly-like clear potting compound. The locking washer is glued to the nut and broken jelly is on the contact area of the terminal.

A USB connector manufacturer is making a really #righttorepair friendly USB-C connector that can be replaced without soldering. It's unusual for a component manufacturer to care about something like this. 4 more PCBs soldered. Place solder paste, place components, wave hot air pencil over them while praying nothing blows away, watch shiny solder joints form.

Now I need to make the test fixture. I'll need to test hundreds more of these in the future. I'll use a Teensy to test them. It'll send signals in one side, and monitor the outputs. First as just signal tests, then it'll do data transfer tests.

Having done a few rides with DJI action cam my main complaint is buttons. I realize there's trade-offs for action, but man the power button is a bear. Hard to press and performs multiple actions: long press for power, quick press to change mode. Hello, I'm wearing winter gloves! 🙄

But that's not why I'm here, at least directly, did you know they have an SDK? They use it in their little camera remote.
Here's their demo code to get an ESP32-C6 to control the camera over BLE (low power bluetooth). One could make their OWN buttons!
