On this #EndangeredSpecieDay we want to highlight the importance of education ambassadors. This is Morgan, you’ve seen a bit of her lately because we are training her and this was taken while we were sunning. She is a non releasable Black-and-chestnut Eagle, an endangered species and probably the raptor species with the highest risk of extinction in Colombia. She will help the public learn about raptors, her species, the problems they face, and how we can help.

Yesterday at 14:14 our old lady finally crossed the rainbow bridge after a week of fighting cause she was stubborn even to die. She will always be my first pointer and the reason I love the breed. @makepeace yup!! We have both birds here in the center, the smaller one is from a Bat Falcon (Falco rufigularis) and the bigger one is an Orange-breasted Falcon (Falco deiroleucus) the latter being a bery rare species!

This #TransformationTuesday we want to remind you the story of this handsome guy. He came in with vestibular syndrome due to a broken quadrate bone (middle ear bone) and gave him extreme vertigo. After several months of different treatments and lots of dedication and sleepless nights he pulled through and became this beautiful dork!

Close up of Morgan's eye! We don't know what happened to her but she is def blind in that eye. She has trouble calculating distances at dusk so she is a non releasable bird currently being trained to be more comfy around people.

We are becoming besties!!!
This is Mora, our Black-chested Buzzard-eagle (Geranoaetus melanokeucus), she is a peoduct of illegal trade and a hard imprint. This means she really believes she is a human and gets really frustrated when her reproductive time comes and nothing happens… I’ve started to feed her on the glove by her perch cause she is really aggressive towards well, everybody, due to that frustration. We’re slowly getting there!
