Linux encouraged me a lot to learn coding. #Python is the first stop for me. That led me to create a Github account somehow. Few useless but nice tools in my repo. This will grow alongside with my learnings: https://github.com/andacuzel

Support for Windows 10 ends on October 14, 2025. Microsoft wants you to buy a new computer. But what if you could make your current one fast and secure again?
Check out the End of 10 initiative to learn more! If you know anyone else who might find this useful, share it with them!
People read for voice. If you have no voice, you have no readers.
A key part of voice is that many of the word combinations and phrases you use are unique to you.
In other words, your sentences are statistically unlikely.
Generative AI such as ChatGPT produces statistically likely sentences.
Which means that generative AI is not useful for a working writer who wants to be read. #writing
Happy #LaborDay everyone.
#TranslateWiki is the easiest tool that I've been using for translations. Simple and clean. Helped me a lot to onboard the translations field of open source.
Is it #WhiskersWednesday already? Meet with Shosta the cat.
Today is International Jazz Day.
I often find myself comparing jazz to open source.
Both feel free.
In jazz, musicians improvise, listen to each other, and build something beautiful together.
In open source, people from all over the world do something similar—with code, ideas, and small acts of contribution.
Happy Jazz Day to everyone creating freely—on stage or in the terminal.
Took a small step today.
Ever since switching to Ubuntu, I’ve grown more curious about the FOSS world but honestly, I didn’t know how to contribute at first.
That led me to Translatewiki. I’ve just signed up and made my first small contributions. It’s a tiny start, but being part of something bigger feels exciting.
If you have any kind of suggestion for further contributions, more than welcome!
Microsoft, I don’t know how to express just how close to actual hell that sounds like to me.
@darrenpmeyer This is sonething that I am also experiencing as a difficulty. I start to watch video, then few minutes larer I zone out. But when I am reading, it is not like that.
@stuartl Well, if you say so. Checked vibe coding communities few days ago. However, it seems to me most of the vibe coders are focusing on the physical result (let’s say it is a “working” tool) but not focusing on “how” and “why”. I am just trying to use AI as a guide to at least learn the key concepts and what to do with them. Thank you for your feedback.
@_thegeoff Awesome! Bookmarked them. Thank you Geoff!
@_thegeoff No, you didn’t act like a downer but wanted to help me. That was helpful. And thank you so much for this warm welcome. Trying to discover the FOSS and Linux! :)
@_thegeoff Ooh. That’s kind of an advice that I’d benefit. At the very beginning I asked the GPT to help me create a learning path for Python and it created me one. However; this is an awesome feedback. Let me find out what can be done to improve my learnings. Thank you so much.
@diazona Aah, forgot that! Maybe I’d add for a future introduction post :)
@diazona Ah, thank you for your warm welcome! People are friendly here. I guess everyone would agree :)
Fueled by the curiosity that came with switching to Ubuntu, I started learning Python! And today is my very first day.
I built a simple age calculator and a BMI calculator. I’m using ChatGPT for guidance, but I don’t just copy and paste code — it points me in the right direction, and I discover and fix the mistakes myself.
My goal is to create at least two small projects every day this week, and by the weekend, I’ll gather all of them into my very first GitHub repository!
Hello everyone, I’m Andaç. 👋
I recently transitioned to Ubuntu and open-source ecosystems to explore technology with a more mindful and creative spirit.
I’m not a developer by trade, but I’m passionate about building simple, functional tools — open to everyone.
I believe in learning by doing, embracing mistakes, and growing one small step at a time.
Excited to learn from this community and share what I build along the way.
