Selfishly (very), I find myself unsure if purchasing merch on Bandcamp is still… viable, given the layoffs.
There’s an Oddisee repress with my name all over it but I sort of don’t trust the platform now.
@thomasreggi 8 days later… this is the one I got from New Egg:
Kingston FURY Renegade M.2 2280 4TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe 3D TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SFYRD/4000G
@thomasreggi I just got a good one. I’ll see if I can find the name… My main advice is to make sure the SSD, enclosure, and cable can max out your Mac’s port speed. The Mac Studio is 10Gbps and it’s amazingly fast.
Holy moly that Klingon bit
I’m here for this Star Trek ep that needs to end in a grand finale ensemble song. You got this Uhura.
6yo: Look dada, I decorated my wall with pink glue.
Me: Please only use glue when there's a grownup around.
6yo: But what if I really want to glue something and there's no grownup?
Me: Wait for a grownup.
6yo: But how about when I'm a grownup?
Me: Glue anything you like.
6yo: YAAAYYYY!!!
@siracusa I’m poking around on Bandcamp Friday looking for vinyl for exactly this purpose.
What’s good on #bandcampfriday?
On future OLED iPads, at least this will be spinnable as economy mode.
“What if you were writing a profile on someone named Janet, and I was your editor, and I was like, ‘I’m sorry, for balance, find someone who wants to kill Janet’” https://www.buzzsprout.com/1112270/12853332-we-need-to-talk-about-the-new-york-times-with-tuck-woodstock
How do you reliably get Ivory to scroll up to the top of the timeline?
My trick so far is “tap the home icon a bunch and eventually it will happen.” I haven't figured out the exact pattern yet.
60s-era space-age robustly orchestrated jazz-rock from the 90s. Vamps, drones, breaks, synths, horns, strings, vibraphone.
Stereolab is a constant fave around here, but where Dots and Loops and Emperor Tomato Ketchup were my go-to albums, Cobra And Phases Group Play Voltage In The Milky Night has been a frequent repeat for the last few months.
Don't let the subdued album cover fool you.
Next: Universe in Reverse by Isolated Gate, also just released a few months ago.
I might be biased because the singer is a dear friend of ours from our Osaka days—Ian Masters of Pale Saints fame. But this album is just beautiful. Easily the 10th or 15th listen already.
I've been waiting to post this record because I don't have the words for what it does for me. But better to let you take that journey on your own than for me to wait for my vocabulistics to come together.
America was founded on the promise of freedom and equal rights for all.
In reality, this has always been unevenly applied. Freedom is a constant battle, and everyone’s rights are FAR from equal.
The most American thing we can do is to keep pushing hard for freedom, liberty, and truly equal rights for EVERYONE.
My 6yo, true to form, not only described in *great detail* what headphones she wants, but also drew me a picture.
These are "caticorn" headphones, complete with a unicorn horn, decorative flowers, and cat ears. Those lines inside the ears? They are sparkles, I'm told.
Now it's my job to find these headphones which may or may not exist.
