Here is my latest image from last night! The great Orion Nebula (m42)
It sits at a distance of about 1400 light years from Earth, and is a great stellar nursery. Stars are born here!!
Taken with my 200mm newt at f3.8. This is only 39 minutes total exposure time 🤯
The Western Veil nebula, aka the witches broom 🙂 part of a supernova remnant in the constellation of cygnus.
So this image is actually a combination of data from two different telescopes of mine. The Altair 115 triplet and the Altair 200mm newt
Image is 20x240s on the 115 triplet with dual band filter taken back in July, combined with 55x 180s with the 200mm newt (now at f3.8..thank you nexus) taken last night 😄also with the dual band filter .
@EdHoltAstro thank you 😊
@BobReflected me either until I spotted it!
Adding this little chunk to my imaging train! Let’s take the beer down to f3.8! 🙂 #astrophotography
@dazza1639 that is stunning! ❤️
Good evening everyone! Here’s the wizard nebula! This nebula is about 8500 light years from earth in the Perseus arm of the Milky Way galaxy!
The cluster of stars itself spans around 20 light years and has an estimated age of 4-11.9 million years. #space is very cool

@BrownsAstro @ryderdavid I think a small refractor is a great idea. It’ll make things a lot easier for you. Plus those lovely wide field views
@ryderdavid @BrownsAstro what scope do you have? Also you can get fan cooled and Tec cooled cameras. It’s always worth saving extra and going for the tec model if you can!
@BrownsAstro wow!! I just had to go check the prices because I couldn’t believe the zwo would be that expensive! I’ve always gone for Altair cameras myself and found them beautifully made! I know the owners of the company, Ian and Nick who are great. As for comparing the cameras they are practically the same! Really all that is different is the colour 😅 so wow that red paint they’re using must be pricey! I’ve always been really happy with my 26c . (These aren’t all mine btw!)
@gibberishh me too! Well I used a special dual band filter to capture ha (which is red) and oiii (which is blue-green) so I think this would be very close…but without taking a rocket up there who knows! :) glad you like the pic though :)
Good evening everyone! Todays throwback image is my first deep sky pic that I took with big bucket! I actually think this looks like a xenomorph! 👽️
This is the eastern veil nebula, part of a supernova remnant in the constellation of Cygnus! The source star was at least 20x more massive than our sun and explode 10k-20k years ago! At the time of the explosion it would have been brighter in the sky than Venus and also visible in daytime!

@astroaddict beautiful :)
A beauty in the sky!🔥🔭
This is the famous Orion Nebula, an amazingly bright and complex cloud of dust and gas, located - you guessed it - in the constellation Orion. It's location can easily be seen by the naked eye, the sword of Orion. Taken with a camera and telescope last winter.

@astrogsw it really is so stupid! Poor Mary was locked out of her account for so long!
@supernovae definitely! :)
@supernovae thank you for the welcome! Still getting used to this but might move over from the bird site entirely!
@urcasualphotographer the mount the telescope is on moves in time with the rotation of the earth :)
@urcasualphotographer some people do leave them overnight. The aim is to get as much integration time as possible. So in a night let’s say I might get 50x4min images….then I stack them together to increase the signal to noise ratio 😁
