The greatest weapon the system has is outrage fatigue. Doing so many unimaginable things at the same time that people just sigh and go on. Having so many things to protest that you run out of days and hours. Piling on so you start focusing on surviving with your bare mental health day to day.

Pick your cause and stick to it. Support others who focus on different causes. Don't try to do everything at once.

At the time I got married, 13 years ago, I lived in a flat. I liked it cos it was a short walk from the train station. Good for getting home after late nights out.

My wife moved in. One day she said, "The only problem with this flat is that it's a long walk from the station."

Long?

Turns out it's short if you go thru the woods & by the dark underpass, a route a woman would never think of taking.

And that was my 1st lesson in how we inhabit the same space but live in different worlds.

I still have my first computer, an Osborne Executive with all of its original software and manuals. It still worked great when I last booted it up in 1999. We're really trying to not hang on to stuff forever, so it's heading for the electronics recycling in a week unless someone wants it. This is @paul. I started @hashtaggames #HashTagGames back when the major Twitter to Fediverse waves started in fall 2022 & have put out over 750 nightly games as a fun distraction. I never expected it to grow as it has.

When I first got #Parkinsons Plus, a doctor "prescribed" tasks that brought me joy and distraction, because fretting over my struggles, problems & negative all the time created further brain damage that is irreversible and would affect my condition worse.

She said even just a few minutes will stop some damage.

So, even if you don't feel like it, stopping by a few minutes every day, anytime of the day, & contributing to the game by creating a fun hashtag game play, could be beneficial.

No one tries to sell anything, there's no marketing angle– just people around the world putting out a "ha ha" for one moment in time every day
