I know it's been a while since my last update—social networking has never been my strong suit! This past year has been particularly challenging for me health-wise, and it's been a lot to handle. I’ve decided to start a blog to share my journey and experiences. There's not much content yet, but if you're interested, you can check it out at jasonsodyssey.com.

@MereLeFey I am interested to know how that part goes. I am mainly going split just so I can have the tenting. I wasn't sure if the slight angle would make much of a difference so let me know what you think!

@MereLeFey - Very cool! That does sound like a fun keyboard. Nice to know it wasn't too hard to adjust to it too.

@MereLeFey - That makes sense. I wasn't happy with my lubed ones, but it was mainly because I had too much on some and it eventually spread to the contact so they wouldn't activate anymore. So really my own fault on that one.

@MereLeFey - Nice! That is in the list of the keyboards that we are considering. How are you liking the Alice layout? I am thinking I want to go full split this time, but this one is very tempting.

@KuJoe - It is a bit of a rabbit hole once you start looking into it. It was also a lot harder to do than we expected. Or to do well and consistently anyway. Was a fun way to spend a bunch of hours and it is pretty satisfying when you are all done and have everything setup.

@ProgGrrl - Totally! I think that is a great way to look at it. Specially when you get into picking out the keycaps. So many crazy colors and all the different profiles can make it pretty fun to figure out which ones you want to go where.

@KuJoe - Totally get that. Doing totally custom ones really does hurt the wallet. We decided it falls into the hobby bucket is how we justify it.

My current keyboard uses the silent box browns from Kailh. Before that we took the time to actually take the switches all part to lube and mod them. Not sure if I would do that again though. Our fingers were pretty sore by the time we were all done opening and putting the switches back together.

@ProgGrrl - Ha, I do miss the old IBM keyboards. That picture is without all of the keycaps just to show them off. We judged them with the keycaps on and we moved them around for each of us to do the tests so we couldn't be influenced by the ones we just thought were pretty or whatever. Mainly just goofing around, but it was a lot of fun.

@gregandcin - We already had a bunch from a few years ago, but we got a ton of the new fancy ones from hippokeys.com to add to our collection. We hadn't tried any of the Tecsee ones yet and they had lots of cool ones. Too bad so many are out of stock.

I think the rest of the switches came from the Drop sample pack (drop.com/buy/assorted-mechanic) and some other random ones from Amazon over the years.

Thanks @KuJoe! And I think you mean not into them yet... 😂

We made some for our anniversary a few years ago and now we are hooked.

My wife and I are getting ready to put together a couple new keyboards. We couldn't decide which switches we want for these ones so we decided to order some sample packs so we could try out some of the newer ones. We were almost able to fill out this smaller keyboard with the different options. The winners for us were Tecsee Mango Ice (me) and Tecsee Purple Panda (wife).

@Fil3 I will, thanks for the tip!

@grryboy ha, no worries. Yeah I am subscribed to some tags. I think that is a great feature since I don’t have specific people I know I want to follow yet anyway.

@grryboy thanks for the tip. I am not too concerned about getting boosted though. Mainly just wanted the info in my posts.

@isagalaev Nope! We skipped that step to go straight to the part with all the free time.

@isagalaev ha, yeah. Honestly my wife and I are always like, we should stay up all night to play some new game that came out, but end up calling it quits before 11.

@isagalaev, sleeping is optional. It doesn't live up to the hype anyway. 😆

@david_obrien - Reminds me of this video with the guy shouting at the server rack to mess with the drives: youtube.com/watch?v=tDacjrSCeq
