Found this an interesting read…we’re all so keen to analyse now and predict that actually making any change or progress is hindered.
Well, well, well.... Nigel Farage uses a personal services firm in a common if often criticised 'tax planning' approach to (legally) reduce his tax bill.
Once again Farage is showing that despite his man of the people approach he's a lot more like the establishment figures he criticises... but, while this features in the Guardian, my guess is unlike Angela Rayner's, Farage's tax affairs will garner little interest or traction in the Right media.

Paying tax is a privilege. It means you have something that others don’t or can’t. Pay what you owe and stop trying to wriggle out of it.

Whoever invented the domestic garden trampoline - your punishment will be your neighbours kids forever peeking over your fence. If I set up a ladder on my side of the fence and peered over into my neighbour’s garden every afternoon while they’re sitting out, they’d tell me to get lost…and rightly so.

Here in the UK, we are hearing about the "huge nationwide protests" by the far right this weekend.
To put this into perspective, there were a total of 19 protests nationwide yesterday, with numbers ranging from 6 people in Wolverhampton to 400 people in Nuneaton.
The grand total of protestors nationwide was around 2000 people, which is a microscopic amount in a country of 68 million.
The question is, who's making such a big deal about it, and why?
What is frustrating about the Bank of England, is there's lots of hand wringing about inflationary pressures & the problem of rising inflation.... but there is a lot less concern for the engineered quasi-recession that the BoE have wrought over the last couple of years.... which they seem perfectly happy for commentaries to blame on Rachel Reeves.
I may be no big fan of Reeves but the current stagnation has a lot more to do with the BoE that with her!
Inheritance tax receipts have risen (even before Rachel Reeves' changes) to a record level of £6.7bn in 2022/23 (latest figures).
But, before you complain about frozen thresholds & more people being 'caught' by IHT, there are other important facts:
Despite a headline 40% the average estate (after allowances etc.) actually paid 13%!
Less than 5% of deaths (& estates) paid any IHT at all!
So, you're rich if you're paying it & you're often paying less than your VAT!

@ChrisMayLA6 Take the time to despair. Pick a fight and find something concrete you can do. Write a letter. Donate to a cause, movement or charity. Volunteer. Go on a protest march. Even signing a petition. Don’t give up the hope - when that goes, all is lost.
Personally I need to find the positive stories out there. There are times when all the negativity just breeds “what’s the point?”. People will join a cause they think can win - so we just need to show that. I will if you will!
