Microsoft Windows 10 will be unsupported as of October 2025. The upgrade requirements will effectively obsolete a lot of older still performant machines OR expose their users to security vulnerabilities.
While the upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 is free, Microsoft is forcing unreasonable requirements. I go over the important ones and work around others to upgrade my living room SteamPowered gaming computer.

I've upgraded the 2015 Macbook Air I use for managing synths that don't like Linux. to Sonoma using OpenCore. There's a little bit of reduced performance from Monterey but it's impressive that it can be done almost transparently, so it should be good for a bit longer. #MacOS #OpenCore #reduce #reuse #recycle

Decades ago, I made some tin-can mobiles that I painted with with copper and brass patina then decorated with teal, gold, and copper glass beads, cabochons, lace, gold and copper chains, and wire.
Today I drug them out of storage and hung them in my bathroom. They’re old and rusty now, which actually works better. I think they create a kind of retro-junk-Victorian vibe. And the teal patinas and decorative bits will go nicely with the browns, golds, and silvers of the fixtures.

Exhaustive 2020 article showing myriad ways to protect yourself from tear gas. Seems difficult to combine goggles with masks since they both want access to the bridge of your nose. Worth noting that your exhale is not masked, so some add pieces of respirator masks, to protect others.

#Ubuntu is a good choice as #Desktop #Linux #distro when you want to hand this to someone who may not be as "#TechLiterate" but then again the "full" install comes with #LibreOffice, #Thunderbird and #Firefox so all the #Normies' needs are fulfilled.
- If I only had like €/$ <100 and needed to get a laptop that works and didn't knew how to get something else (fixed) I'd propably buy it for that.
#Repair & #Reuse is always better than #Upcycle and espechally #Recycle, and getting a decent #OS on that machine and the screen fixed really made it useful...
