É o caminho a seguir, mas no futuro. A Canonical vai abandonar o X11 quando usando GNOME no Ubuntu 25.10, esta versão não é ainda uma de longo suporte(LTS), que são as versões usadas pelo Linux Mint. Quando o Ubuntu 26.04 LTS for lançado, o Linux Mint vai ser atualizado para essa versão, e fica também a usar o Wayland. Irá também atualizar vários outros pacotes de software para versões mais recentes, mais estáveis, e polidas, que tornarão a experiência Wayland melhor.

@pensadorlouco A minha experiência pessoal com o Wayland usando o Linux Mint com uma placa gráfica da Nvidia tem sido para já um pouco desapontante. Até adicionei um repo com drivers gráficas mais atualizadas, mas ainda assim a estabilidade falha um pouco, e o polimento também. Tenho crashes ocasionais, e algumas aplicações não suportam o theme escuro.

O suporte Wayland no Linux Mint é ainda experimental, por isso espero que no futuro melhore. Até lá uso X11.
