I used #ubuntu for years, switched to #linuxmint recently which for me runs smoother. Also a happy #murena #efoundation user since last summer.

Das Update bei #linuxmint auf 22.3 findet hauptsächlich auf dem root Filesystem statt. In so einem Fall ist es ratsam, dieses Filesystem zu sichern. Benutzerdaten werden mMn nicht berührt.
Bei einem Update auf die nächste grössere Version, das wäre 23, ist mehr Vorsicht geboten, weil sich dann der gesamte Ubuntu-Unterbau ändert.
Bei #lmde ist das jedoch ganz anders.

Eine neue Systemversion scheint, wenn es eine "hinterm Komma" ist, eine gar nicht wilde Sache zu sein.
Der selten genutzte Laptop zeigt an "Eine neue Version von Linux Mint ist verfügbar". Wäre dann Version Zena.
Muss ich da zur Sicherheit irgendwelche Backups vorher machen?

Ich hab nur noch 800 MB auf der Festplatte frei - bekomm ich gesagt, wenn das nicht ausreicht fürs Update?

Mit dem neuen Rechner (Lenovo) hat Bluetooth ein Problem.
Zwar hab ich eine Lösung gefunden - aber eigentlich soll ja alles "out of the Box" funktionieren.
Ich hab also gesucht, in welches Paket das gehört (linux-firmware), dann hab ich den Paketverantwortlichen (Ubuntu) ermittelt und letztendlich in Github ein Issue erstellt.
Linux ist wie Demokratie: ohne Mitwirkung funktiioniert es nicht.
Here's an update to my #microblog of my latest Linux Mint install.
Today I discovered that I did not have the correct NVidia GPU drivers setup to run a local Stable Diffusion model. (Don't ask me about SD, I just have a new-to-me old GPU begging for interesting code to try.)
I resolved my driver issue with the following steps:
+ I pressed the Windows key on my keyboard.
+ I typed in the word 'drivers' and the clicked on the one suggested menu item that matched my search.
+ A setting panel appeared and informed me that I had four driver options for my NVidia graphics card.
+ Of the four options, one had the word "recommended" beside it. It was not the selected one.
+ So I clicked on the "recommended" one.
+ I closed the window.
+ A new window informed me that I would need to reboot to apply the the change.
+ I rebooted, and found that Stable Diffusion can now see my GPU.
Consegui ativar um negócio aqui que "puxa" o tema do GTK para o QT. O Clementine tá menos feio agora. 🙌🏽

Ich bin zu Linux Mint gewechselt. Vorher hatte ich es per Boot-USB getestet und für gut befunden. Danach - alles, was noch nicht in der Cloud war dort reingeschoben und dann .....
AUGEN ZU UND DURCH!
Einfach so, ohne Dual-Boot....
Und was soll ich sagen ? Ihr seht es ja gerade selbst, ich bin wieder online mit #LinuxMint als OS.
Jetzt suche ich mir meine SW zusammen, die ich normalerweise nutze, sofern verfügbar.

Buenas. Cuando ves un archivo en tu ordenador, este es mostrado con un icono específico que facilita la identificación del tipo que es, además, cuando le das para abrirlo lo hace en el programa adecuado al tipo de archivo, ya sea un documento de texto, una imagen o un PDF, como ejemplos.

Comme prévu, alors que #Microsoft #windows est incapable de mise a jour correctes, j'ai mis à jour mon #linuxmint sur la 22.3 sans problèmes alors qu'il est assez modifié, kernel low latency, réglage opti pour le son sur toute petite config avec icewm, bref, j'ai rien senti et c plus fluide maintenant haha
#Linux y'a moins bien, certes, mais c'est beaucoup plus cher haha 🤓
Anscheinend ist der T2 Chip im MacBook Pro schuld, dass Trackpad und Tastatur nicht mit #LinuxMint funktionieren. Was ich an eventuellen Lösungen gefunden habe, hört sich für mich nach wüstem Fummeln und Basteln an. aehm … nein danke. Wenn schon so grundlegende Dinge nicht gehen, wer weiß was dann noch nicht geht.
Ich lasse jetzt das Teil auf #macOS und wenn es aus dem Support fällt, dann fahr ich ein paarmal mit dem Auto drüber und entsorge den Rest.

Apparently my USB Drive has arrived. When I get home I shall be creating a #LinuxMint boot drive and kicking Windows out 😎
