#LinuxMint and #Linux in general friends, I have a question for you. I've just used #TimeShift to roll back my system as I had accidentally typed a stupid command into the terminal (rm -r ~ ((is the use of a tilde as a system naming variable as dangerous as "*"?))) and I was worried I had removed things I shouldn't have and I rolled back to my last TimeShift snapshot.
So far no issues. Reboot. Where are have my desktop items gone? Replacing launcher items was not hard, but a custom script for enabling RT audio features was gone. Where did it go? Why did it go?
Thankfully I have instructions on making this on my website so I'm back where I wanted to be, but I am unclear why my Desktop was reset on a TimeShift rollback (the Desktop items were all there on the last TimeShift).
Does anyone already have their compose key set up to type Braille?
New strings have recently been added to Linux Mint. Please ensure your language is translated as fully as possible before the team releases a new version!

Il m'est arrivé de devoir retrouver le mot de passe perdu d'un réseau #wifi à partir de tablettes qui étaient connectées dessus. Ces tablettes pouvaient transmettre un QR-Code utilisable par d'autres appareils pour se connecter au même réseau. J'ai donc installé sur mon ordinateur sous Linux Mint avec une webcam, le paquet "wifi-qr".

Il faut dire que #Microsoft poursuit tranquillement sa stratégie de hausse des prix de sa suite Office 365.
La hausse est prévue en juillet 2026 et peut atteindre 25% pour certaines configurations. L'éditeur justifie cette inflation par les apports de l'IA et un renforcement de la sécurité.

Was bedeutet es, wenn Linux mint mir beim Aktualisieren sagt, dass das WLAN nur mit 81% arbeitet und dann Aktualisierungen abbricht?
Es schwankte laut Anzeige ständig zw. 81 und 100%. Sobald keine 100% Abbruch der Aktualisierung.
Ich kannte von anderen Rechnern bisher gar nicht die Angabe vom WLAN Signal in %.
Ne Stunde später lief es dann problemblos durch.

Lo ammetto, io tendo ad utilizzare distribuzioni più minimali ed "esotiche", ma una distro italiana fondata su una base ultra solida come Mint, e arricchita da tool specificamente pensati per il pubblico italiano, ha sicuramente il suo perché.
A tal proposito il punto di vista di Dario, storico utente Linux Mint, assume un valore speciale.
