In A Purrfect World - Episode 4 - Bad Cat?
Pamela Merritt on Pet Life Radio
petliferadio.com/purrfectworld

There really aren't any bad cats, only misunderstood cats! Learn how cats get in trouble by expressing their instinctual needs.

Then, how to meet those needs, in ways we both like.

The text says "In a Purrfect World" and the tropical background of palm leaves and tranquil lagoon features a brown tabby cat sleeping on their stomach on a white, furry cat tree shelf.

Word came back about the mysterious artifact. Bud and Lou knew it was going to be their mission.

The shut down code was a puzzle in Base 18.

Two gray tabby cats examine a light wooden puzzle box with round holes all over it, floating above a black ball giving off gray smoke, affecting the top gray cat, in the smoke, who is glowing.

NEW POST! Manage Their Imagination because it influences them. - CatSpeak at Way of Cats wayofcats.com/blog/manage-thei

When we don’t realize how much, and how often, they are working their brains, we can misunderstand some of their cries for help.
It is unwanted behavior, but maybe our cats don’t understand why we think it’s “bad.”

A large gray tabby cat, long and lean, is superimposed as a giant size against a tropical lagoon with turquoise water, paws balanced on stepping stones, staring intently into water he is dipping whiskers into, illustrating Manage Their Imagination.

Can kittens in a litter have different fathers? - Dear Pammy at Way of Cats wayofcats.com/blog/dear-pammy-

Each kitten has an equal potential to be a delightful companion. But it also means that littermates are not necessarily well matched.

Kittens of various ages and colors look up from discarded crates, with only the foreground kitten, a tortoiseshell, in focus, illustrating Dear Pammy, Can kittens in a litter have different fathers?

Rhiannon doesn't fill the cat tree shelf now, but she sure didn't at six months.

We knew she was star material.

Inside a beige carpeted cat tree shelf, taking up only a fourth of the area inside, and highlighted by a downward sunbeam like godrays and there's a dilute tortoiseshell kitten, just starting to get leggy, looking up and to the side as though figuring it all out.

NEW POST! Cats take constant Steps of Maturity. - Keeping pace at Way of Cats wayofcats.com/blog/steps-of-ma

No matter the age, we can help our cat continue their mental development. Sometimes the drive is obvious, as with Torties.

Other times, it is happening under our radar. Until they do something that took planning.

Rhiannon has such determined eyes.

I tried a crayon filter to make a pretty illustration and even then... it is even more obvious she is going to have her way.

Her voice gets my attention. We play "Show Me." She dances her thanks.

It is a pleasure to be ordered around by her. I do prefer Cat Management Ways.

We connect Because of the Fluffy. - Compatibility at the Way of Cats wayofcats.com/blog/because-of-

Many small dogs were bred for charm and looks, selected over centuries to entertain and bestow affection.

Cats work that way. They are persuasion creatures.

Took a severe zoom, but here is Bud with his tongue out.

Treats in the puzzle box.

An extreme zoon shot of a gray tabby cat looking up from the corner of a wooden puzzle box, pink tongue starting to come out to help with the treats. Everything is fuzzy from low light, from behind.

Cat Imagination is always ON. - Survival Traits at the Way of Cats wayofcats.com/blog/cat-imagina

We might ponder what cat imagination feels like, but I don’t wonder if they have any.

Their brain is a lot like ours, especially the limbic system. That’s where we find the emotions which drive us.

At the top of the frame a guitar seems to loom over the cat face at the bottom, eyes rolled upwards as though they are thinking of music, illustrating Cat Imagination.

Bud and Lou each take a corner, where they can even get each other's rewards.

Bud has a long reach. Lou has big paws. They have done this every morning since they were 3.5 months old.

A large wooden box with round holes cut through most of the surfaces, so cats at opposite corners, gray tabbies with one looking up at the lens, pause in their search for the treats and toys in the box.

Lou's agent wanted him to try horror, but his heart wasn't in it.
